This week, I designed and printed a tilted stand for my Quad Cortex. I'm pretty proud of it. It fits perfect, and it has some nice touches (IMHO):
- An outlet for that stupid underside vent. That said, I know zilch about thermodynamics, so exactly how effective this is, I don't know. I just wanted to leave some escape for the warm air that comes out the bottom.
- Grips to make moving the whole assembly a bit easier.
- It's monolithic - there's another QC stand on Printables that's two pieces. I have a giant printer, so I figured, why not do a one-piece stand. The size does make it prohibitive for the majority of printers, but it can be split into 2+ parts and glued together.
I learned a lot going this, and it was quite fun. The whole print took 25 hours and consumed 550g of filament. I had this yellow filament lying around from another project, so I used that since I had enough to get through the whole print.
