Looks like they’re following PRS’s lead. China-built but with oversight from Tyler. Definitely interested to see how these turn out.
Could be good. Who knows. My friend raves about his Sadowsky Metro Express, which is made in China, and I’ve played a couple that were nice. Or you could get something like a Dingwall Combustion, which is hilariously overpriced for what it is.Didn’t work out for Suhr because they did too much at the USA end.
Hopefully they can get the balance right.
Do you know for a fact that the LTD‘s are Indonesian? Usually is Korean, specifically the signature models. From what I understand, they are going to go for around $1799, which puts it firmly between the Indo-made Yamaha Pacificas at $1349 and the "I'll have some of what they're smoking" new Indo-made ESP LTD guitars going for $2000-$2700.
that seems overpriced to me. I know their US stuff it a lot more but I think those are overpriced too. From what I understand, they are going to go for around $1799, which puts it firmly between the Indo-made Yamaha Pacificas at $1349 and the "I'll have some of what they're smoking" new Indo-made ESP LTD guitars going for $2000-$2700.
Yeah I still can’t wrap my head around that one.Or you could get something like a Dingwall Combustion, which is hilariously overpriced for what it is.
Weren’t the Suhrs marketed under a brand name?Didn’t work out for Suhr because they did too much at the USA end.

China can make anything as long as the spec and budget is right. Eastman are better built than Gibson for example.Could be good. Who knows. Right, which is why the Sadowskys were nice, but the Dingwall that was 3x the cost was laughable dogshit. Right next to each other, same environment.China can make anything as long as the spec and budget is right. Eastman are better built than Gibson for example.
I'd take an Eastman over a Gibson, any day.Is that another episode of Andy's Hot Takes or are you 100% serious?![]()

Possibly part of the problem. The PRS SE line have used the power of the USA logo to increase appeal.Rasmus.
I think PRS does a good job with it, because the SE is clearly visible, and doesn't cause confusion. Plus, anecdotally, anyone that's been playing guitar for a few years knows an $850 PRS isn't a Core.Possibly part of the problem. Yes product differentiation is important to not damage your high end products.I think PRS does a good job with it, because the SE is clearly visible, and doesn't cause confusion. Plus, anecdotally, anyone that's been playing guitar for a few years knows an $850 PRS isn't a Core.
I agree, it seems expensive for what it is. But generally these budget lines sell for a percentage of what the flagship stuff does, like a 25%-30% of the American version.that seems overpriced to me. I know their US stuff it a lot more but I think those are overpriced too.
I didn't know that Jim had passed. I somehow missed that. I guess we will see what happens to the price of their instruments now that it has been a little while since he has passed.
Probably why I’ve never head of them.Rasmus.
