I see what you mean but it only takes about 30 seconds to explain.People you possibly communicate with will likely not know your system. That's why most of us stick to what is best common knowlegde, shortcomings notwithstanding.

Yeah, up in arms is an understatement. That's actually an interesting question.
There's a whole truckload of strange, unclear, shady and whatever things when it comes to musical notation and analysis. Maybe an AI would be able to weed out some of those - but rest assured, on of the hostorical "camps" (kinda like classical vs. more modern) would be all up in arms.
So by your logic”system” a IV7 would be a 5ofb7? Or a bVII7 would be a 5ofb3?I see what you mean but it only takes about 30 seconds to explain.
No. ♭7⁷ is a backdoor dominant.So by your logic”system” a IV7 would be a 5ofb7? Or a bVII7 would be a 5ofb3?
How is the 4 chord with a b7 in key?No. 4⁷ is in key and ♭7⁷ is a backdoor dominant.
Give me a minute to fix my post. Sorry. 4Δ⁷ is in key.How is the 4 chord with a b7 in key?
So what’s the IV7 then to youGive me a minute to fix my post.
Yes it’s 5of♭7 and kinda probably works with the ♭7⁷ leading to 1 but I’m at work.So what’s the IV7 then to you
A Train II7Yes it’s 5of♭7 and kinda probably works with the ♭7⁷ leading to 1 but I’m at work.
I’m not sure I’ve run into a 5of♭7 yet. As an exercise i accept it.
Why do you call it a special rule?So why the special rule?
I don’t know what this means.A Train II7
The tune take the A train has a II7I don’t know what this means.
Yes it’s 5of♭7
The tune take the A train has a II7
Why?Any 7-chords not resolving "properly" would pretty much throw his system.
Ok.The tune take the A train has a II7
D♭⁷ in C is ♭2⁷. Anyone would recognize that as a tritone substitution.A Db7 in the key of C major hardly is a 5ofb5.

Yes.So, in your system, some X7 chords are described by function whereas others are just using the scale degree?
As I’ve shown if 5 of X leads to X it’s a 5of. Otherwise it’s a scale degree.Yes it’s 5of♭7 and kinda probably works with the ♭7⁷ leading to 1 but I’m at work.
