You ever take long breaks from playing?

I know that I have now lost my obsession period with guitar. So I now stick to 30-45 minutes a day at a minimum. Then when I have the time back I might up the ante again. It’s a hobby but I’ve invested to much now to let it go.

Then again, it sounds like you are waaaayy ahead of me.

In my 20s I made rap music. That was my obsession. At 27 I got other priorities and didn’t do anything with rap for a decade+.

Shit I worked longer hours during covid than I did before or after. My phone barely stopped ringing between 7am and 11pm everyday.
Same here. They sent us to work from home and we all ended up working more hours immediately. The business loved that we were getting things done fast and that workload hasn't really slowed down a lot. Now we are being mandated back to the office in a little over a month. I sure hope they are ready for deliverables to slow down to what they were when we were in the office 5 years ago. I am sure they are not.

All the time

Currently haven't played in like 3 weeks...though I did just move so I guess I have a crumb of an excuse

Yeah I had exactly the same experience as you. I went from field based to working from home and the lines between work time and personal time got really blurred really quickly.
