Two different things. The game boy comment was in relation to the next generation aka AxeIV. He explicitly said that was not happening soon so the "surprise" was always something else.

Oh, and have you not seen the QC mini? It really does look like a handheld gaming platform in a good way, so Cliff wasn't that far off with that comment!

I am currently wondering if the Kemper 2.0 release will unleash a massive shitstorm across forums when it inevitably comes up short, or if by time it releases there will be no one left who cares enough to offer more than a half hearted bitch post.

I predict it will get a small amount of attention, and most people will agree it sounds slightly better. But....

Most Mk1 owners won't be aware of it and will continue to use their Mk1's happily. Those few Mk1 owners who are aware of the new profiling mostly won't be impressed enough to trade in their Mk1 for a Mk2.

People who are in the market for a profiler may be aware of of the new profiling, but will choose to buy a QC, nanocortex, or even a Stadium.

Net increase in sales to Kemper as a result of this huge project: approximately zero.

I have zero confidence in Kemper and software give the track record with the Access Virus TI debacle. They sold these for almost 8 years (maybe more) knowing the software didn’t work on any modern Mac yet still claimed so in their website and in all marketing materials.

My only guess is he wasn’t paying attention to the thread subject and was focused on disputing the statement that fractal isn’t working on anything new right now.

I’m still ready to whip out my wallet for a AM/FM/0/1/-1/whatever though. After a few days of silence and NAMM is over it really will be a surprise.
