Why does the Clapton signature Stratocaster have 70 Db boost ?

Thats the way the Clapton Strat works agree totaly. And if you see this massive cuircuit its not Strange si got mine to 80 Db boost. This is no simple EMG81 cuircuit.

I am going to assume you have no idea how to read a circuit diagram or measure the change in signal strength. There is just no physical way that circuit is boosting the pickup output by 80db. It simply is not.

What in the absolute fuck is going on here?

I've gone years without thinking of the EC Strat, and yet here we are.

That's an excellent question, sir!.

I have the answer right here. It's written down on a neatly cut square sheet of paper, and it's sat in front of me. I am actually looking down at the answer right now.

Ahhh. Such a good answer. So satisfying to read.

Right! I'm off to bed for 12 hours.

Seeya!

I’ve spent the better part of a dozen years dissecting every nuance of the Clapton Strat—measuring lacquer thickness on the body, reverse-engineering the stacked concentric pots, bench-testing Burr-Brown op-amps in a cryo-chamber, tweaking the Mini-Toggle’s routing, even 3D-scanning the pickguard’s cavity to map trace geometries—all in pursuit of that “mystical” 70 dB boost spec. I swapped every capacitor, reflowed every joint, and psychoanalyzed every schematic, convinced the secret lay somewhere in artisanal boutique buffers or hidden luthier-grade transformers and in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

We need a special trash-bin forum for threads like this, and 'how far can you tune up your strings until they break.'
