Why are harmonized guitars so fun!?

I was bored and all the talk around here about Autumn Leaves gave me this goofy idea for a hard rock version.

It all started with one little harmony on part of the melody at the end… and it escalated quickly!

I couldn’t stop myself. It’s so fun coming up with tons of layered harmonized guitars… even to the point of absurdity like this I had to stop myself from doing more

What is it that’s so fun about doing this? Or is it just me

This one feels like a cross between Maiden and an ‘80s TV show theme song

If you listen closely you’ll hear a completely pointless tambourine part representing the lead singer who doesn’t know what to do during the instrumentals, but doesn’t want to leave the stage.
It’s my homage to James LaBrie

Haha! Love it. I took a Tambourine to our rehearsal space for our Singer,
because during solos or instrumental sections, he has this rotten
habit of turning his back, and then awkwardly not knowing what the hell to
do, except nothing.

Sadly, he has genderized the Tambourine and thinks it is a female instrument.

I even showed him some cool double-time feels with the Tambo. He remains
unimpressed.

Hahahah we were playing "Seek And Destroy" at practice the other night and I kept tossing in harmonies instead of unison lines, the guitarist says "I don't think they harmonize much in this song?" and I just said "They do now!"

On a side note I know a percussionist who played for the touring production of Mamma Mia and he said it called for 7 specific different tambourines!

He said his hand hurt so bad he never wanted to play tambourine again

I'm glad I've made you discover some good music.

They are basically considered the fathers of twin guitars and made few good records in the first years.

Nice, but Brian May kinda ruined that sort of thing for everyone else since he nailed it so good on Queen II.
