What's preventing you from getting a Helix Stadium (if you really want to buy it eventually)?

some people - or moron's as I prefer to call them - are bitching that it is not at the level of stability / maturity / sonic bliss etc.... of the 10+ year old mature OG Helix or the 7+ year old mature OG Axe 3 etc.....
So you say other mates, that have an opinion, are morons. OK, mate. The thread title asks one thing, and some users say, in response of that question, things like it is not at the level of stability / maturity / sonic bliss etc.... of the 10+ year old mature OG Helix or the 7+ year old mature OG Axe 3 etc..... (your words, just to keep it as dramatic as you like to paint everything).

Which is a logical point, also quite obvious (as you seem to state), and not an ofense at all... except to you, I guess. The only getting this thread into TOP mood is you, insulting others for stating their opinion (and no, I´m not talking about that guy that created an account just to burn L6, that´s another story).

then their opinions and thoughts have, to me, no respect or credibility.
And you say it just as if your opinion was more reliable. Ok mate, keep it up.

Take it however you want. I dont give a flying you-know-what.

Im not telling anyone to buy or not buy anything.

You have one or not, I dont care either way. You kept or sold one. I dont care either way.

Youre comments clearly demonstrate you did not even remotely get the point of my posts ..... and you seem ro have taken it quite personally.

As we used to say down here .... take a Bex and have a good lay down ;)

At least I didn´t insult anyone. That´s taking it personal and, don´t fool yourself, it´s not the way to go for friendly sharing opinions. In fact, it´s just the opposite.

You´re the one who needs to calm down and have a siesta.

I know and am thankful this isn't T.O.P but this thread in its totality is i.m.h.o one of the very few real low-points for TGF so far.
Funny how you can start all the forums you want because “TOP bad” and some people still tend to group up into gear brand teams and start poking at each other stirring things up.

Not at all what I'm getting at. I [still naively] assume that people have eyes and ears and partially functioning base level powers of perception and understanding.

No-one ... including D.I / L6 ... are saying anything other than that the Stadium is in its infancy - its an 8 - 10 year product and is only about 2-3 months into its "life" ... and some people - or moron's as I prefer to call them - are bitching that it is not at the level of stability / maturity / sonic bliss etc.... of the 10+ year old mature OG Helix or the 7+ year old mature OG Axe 3 etc.....

And for the record and a side note, on TGP when the OG Axe 3 was released, and Cliff was specifically asked how much better it would sound than the [at the time current] Axe 2 ... his answer was ... absolutely honest ....not much at all, but that over time this would change .... truth from him then ... and truth from L6 / D.I now

One of the oft-cited rules sprouted on these forums is "only ever buy gear for what it does now" and don't expect any more ... fine for drum sticks and strings and guitars and acoustic drum kits or analog pianos etc.... but tier 1 pro digital modeling is a whole different world

The top tier units from L6 or Fractal or QC or TMP are all designed up-front to be long-life-span massively-upgradable-over-time units.

This isn't breaking news.

Its not revolutionary news.

But if some people have the $$ and buy one now and expect ^this^ instead of expecting to ride the "journey" as the product matures, then their opinions and thoughts have, to me, no respect or credibility.

Just my 2c
Of course it’s going to improve. But you dont have to buy it today to get those improvements. It’s not like you’re getting some super low early bird discount price by buying today. Which is exactly why “buy it for what it does today” still applies. Nobody is saying “I ain’t ever gonna buy a Stadium”, they’re just saying “eh, not now”.

I.m.h.o .... 22 pages in .... this thread has turned into a clusterfuck of some people not even trying to understand where the Stadium sits in its development phase which was explicitly explained by D.I in their initial announcement ie: brand new modeling, very few [so far] Agoura Amps etc.... yet its turned into straight out L6 passive-aggressive "shitting-on" because (a) well .... its L6 and (b) because they were expecting a pre-emptive Axe FX 4 killer ... its middle school self-justified thought processes and opinions openly and proudly dressed down in fuck-knuckle'ry

I know and am thankful this isn't T.O.P but this thread in its totality is i.m.h.o one of the very few real low-points for TGF so far.
Some people said some of these users were recently created. One has to wonder if "a certain company" minions are derrailing the discussion to discredit Line6. It wouldn't the first time a dirty action like that takes place in a forum like this.

I hoped the OP disclaimer would keep the conversation where it was supposed to be, but...

The Pluribus offtopic was nice, though.

But some are actually saying they will never buy a Stadium.

Man, some of y'all are soft as shit. Take a joke. We’re going to have some transfers from another forum and they’ll need a minute to catch up to that there are no mods coming to save their feefees.

The beauty of a forum is that an OP is merely a suggestion, where the OP’s choice is either burn the whole thing to the ground, or let it keep going.

The dbfretz are annoying, but also super easy to ignore and not disrupting the entire discussion.

Axe-Fx 2 also sounded initially the same as the Axe-Fx Standard/Ultra and all that evolved within a few years to the Axe-Fx 2 sounding better.

I feel like we are starting to be at the same point with modelers where e.g smartphones and tablets are. There's few "game changing" improvements on new iterations. Nobody's truly thinking outside the box to offer something different on the market either. Everything has coalesced into the same grid of blocks UI, with or without touchscreens.

There's lots of good products on the market each with their pros and cons to choose from to find a compromise that works for your needs. But no real goldilocks product.

I like Fractal tones, Helix Stadium UI, and QC Mini form factor. You could say "Hey, QC is basically a Helix UI copy, that's 2/3 from your list!" but it has the added baggage of being from a company I don't trust.

I think a lot of us are antsy to have our goldilocks product that has the correct temperature porridge and the bed with the right softness.

This amuses me greatly just because I don’t agree with your opinions.

I feel like this is a huge disservice to Stadium. I’d say they HAVE thought outside the box and DO offer a whole lot that Helix didn’t. And the x-y UI thing is a BIG change beyond the grid and touch or no-touch.

It’s not that I don’t think Stadium is impressive. It’s that, for me, a long-time digital modeler user that doesn’t really struggle with UIs or menus or dialing in tones and who isn’t playing any kind of serious gigs…none of it’s worth all that much to me. Doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s cool/beat/awesome.

I think we are in agreement here really. Most modelers on the market are good enough, and even though I also think features like the Focus view, Showcase etc are really good features, they don't really move the needle for people who already own a top tier modeler.

I thought for sure the smaller Helix Stadium would be it when revealed, considering how much I liked a lot of things about the Helix Floor except its form factor. But there's enough work-in-progress about it that I've decided to put myself in a "wait and see" pattern.

I might instead end up waiting for the "Stadium Stomp" because I just don't need an "all bells and whistles" level device. Or a "FM4" in something reminiscent of the AM4.

Catching up on this thread just about anyone who has answered the OP gets basically called a bot. People are so sensitive they can’t handle a challenging opinion…

I have barely seen anyone using the Stadium in videos who doesn’t have some financial incentive to promote it. I’m pretty over watching thinly veiled ads.

I’m not gonna loss any sleep over a bunch of people think the Stadium isn’t there yet for them to jump in. Honestly, what’s the rush?

But quite a few are saying the tones aren’t improved or even that different from Helix, and often leave out they haven’t actually used the thing at all. Again, who cares what other people think, but you’d get the same reaction if I commented “QC doesn’t sound better than POD HD” or ”Axe FX III doesn’t sound different than II so just get the II” without having tried the devices in question.

For some reason the vitriol against Line 6 is a bit worse than usual and I’m not sure why? And the whole ad things could be said for other modelers too, that’s why I suggest people try things out and return if they’re not feeling it.

TOP's new terms of service sent a bunch of people looking for another forum and it seems a few of them ended up here. As you said, there is a big difference between "I am waiting for this feature/amp/whatever" vs the vendor slogging seen in a few threads lately.
