What's preventing you from getting a Helix Stadium (if you really want to buy it eventually)?

What is it you want?

- Too expensive
- Don’t overly love the design
- Don’t really like HX amp modelling compared to others
- Don’t find a lot of difference in the amp tones from the regular Helix

1 - Too expensive - I agree for some people
2 - Don’t overly love the design - absolutely don't agree but that's irrelevant as this come down to personal preference

3 - Don’t really like HX amp modelling compared to others
4 - Don’t find a lot of difference in the amp tones from the regular Helix

Re: 3 and 4 ... were you a Helix owner / user ? and how much time have you spent using the new Stadium though your own rig ?

Nah, not for me. Were I ever to go back to a component modeling unit, 99 chances out of 100 it would be a Fractal unit of some sort. The AM4 looks absolutely awesome to me now.

Just curious about what people might be currently waiting for to get a Stadium (only in case they're interested in the device).

You don't really seem interested in the device, or in reading OP's first paragraphs in forums 😆

Agreed.

I payed approx. 700 USD for my Headrush Prime. And I think that was a perfectly fine price to feature ratio at the time that's only gotten better since with updates.
I don't know about Prime, but I was lent the MX5 and I gave it back to my friend in the next day because it sounded remarkably worse than my Helix LT. 489€ for that seems more like a scam. The UI was nice, though (that's the only reason my friend kept it until he bought the Stadium Floor XL).

That's totally fair and goes to show that a lot of this is subjective. I have the original HX Stomp as well and love it (though not necessarily for modeling) and I tried the Helix Floor out for a couple of weeks when I was moving on from my Headrush Pedalboard and eventually settled on the Prime. I just never gelled with Line 6 modeling and the workflow whereas the Headrush UI and workflow just speaks to me :giggle: And I had a hard time getting as good amp sounds from the Helix Floor as I did with my Pedalboard and now Prime.

Personally I'm a fan of "every frame a painting" type filmmaking. I do agree that Pluribus is often excruciatingly slow on purpose, so you have to watch it with the right mood.

I think the point is that Carol is stubborn as hell, and also a bit paranoid. She doesn't want help, and will go to great lengths to prove a point.

It's a show about deeply flawed people. I hope they pick up the pace for next season though.

But you know what is not slow? Helix Stadium! Let's get back to that!
My wife and I loved Pluribus, but we also love complex stories, loved Breaking Bad and live in NM. Thought it was hilarious that the actual mayor of Albuquerque played himself, but as one of the connected.

Now back to Stadium. Price is definitely a deterrent and one of the reasons I returned it. Especially for something that sits on the floor exposed to drunks and other abuse. The regular Stadium is a little better, but lacking scribble strips makes it much less appealing to me.

It's funny what price vs perceived value, does to some/all of us.

I traded for my Floor, used, in 2018 for $850 + my GSP1101 (he wanted something cheaper and more simple).

I was NOT in the market to spend $1599/$1699 for a modeler at that point, (my GSP1101 was also used and sub-$500) and quite frankly, since I've had my Floor this long, at that cost, it's hard for me to now want to go and spend closer to $2k for a new one, (or even an FM9 at this point).

I must add though, I also have a Stomp XL as well, (got it on sale), AND I don't record, and basically use 1 amp model and very little effects, so, that further decreases a Stadium's "value", to ME.

I think going forward in 2026 2027 price will be a huge thing for a lot of people since changes in the economy are happening and will be happening
I’m mean, they will always be a certain percentage of people that have the money to spend for certain luxury items but I wonder if a lot of these companies are gonna see changes financially from buyers and it will affect their numbers

Temu and Ebay are already flooded with cheap modelers.

This is not a new phenomenon.

Mo money = Mo better

But, obviously Stadium is getting a little long in the tooth and we should probably wait for it's inevitable replacement.

Stadium is obviously a quick drop product, should be in the next couple of years. I mean why would they call it Helix? And why even bother putting the legacy effects and amps in there? Lazy money grab. (He said sarcastically)

There's also the question of her integrity. From her perspective as "v1.0 human", she sees V2 as having lost their free will, etc. She doesn't want that change for herself, nor can she abide others taking advantage. I found her very sympathetic despite being more than a little prickly, but YMMV.

Agree the pacing got a little wobbly toward the end, but I was sorry to see it end so abruptly, and I'm looking forward to S2. (I felt the same way about later seasons of Better Call Saul, by the way. Great characters and plotlines, and then suddenly it felt like the show was standing in tar.)

If it's anything like BCS; it is probably enjoyable but slower than frozen molasses. That + Apple TV sub requirement makes it easy for me to currently ignore and never watch :ROFLMAO:

Worth binging during a brief Apple TV stint IMO. It may be slow, but it's not really that long (yet?)

We are totally in the wrong thread, I know...

LOL probably the most honest answer for a solid half of us. :D
Dude, I get my deepest GAS pangs when watching a show that is not sufficiently disengaging to get me to switch to something off, but sufficiently engaging to keep me sitting there vaguely listening while scrolling on my phone instead of going off to play guitar :)

Which is to say that if anything, TV is a reason I DO buy stuff, not the other way around!

Not the wrong thread. If Stadium could stream shows on its screen and came with 3 months of Apple TV for free, JT would get one. So, it's the lack of Apple TV support that is preventing him from getting a Stadium to watch Plur1bus. Definitely needs to ba added to the poll.
