What Guitar Are You Playing At This Very Moment...

He has some neat models if you dig metal styles. I have played a few of them out in the wild and they play nice \m/ I want inlays still so that is always going to be my holdout as far as his guitars go.

I’ve just been looking at some which look pretty cool but I don't think my bluesy dad rock style could handle that kind of cred. :sofa

This is about as close as you'll get to the bluesy dad rock vibe...

What is it Drew?

Edit - lets add which model is it? before someone responds and says "it's a guitar" :facepalm

It was probably titled E1.6FBB, but I'm going off the 7-string version's name as they stopped making the 6. There's always a few different finishes and 6/7/baritone/Floyd/Fixed/Evertune options being offered/discontinued.

I almost ordered this one when I ordered mine, but it had chrome hardware back then instead of the black.

And now I'm pretty certain I'm going to end up with their X-type for my next Solar-

X types are killer looking!

The one above is perfect, outside the fact it's a 27" baritone. I need a regular 25.5 6-string, Floyd version first. So far the color/hardware combos have all been off by one big thing that'd hold me back from grabbing one.

I was also thinkin' last week that an aged brass Explorer-kinda pickguard would look pretty sick on these.

What’s up with your preference for inlays? I kinda dig guitars without them although I don’t currently have one. I think it was a Yamaha AES 720 or 620.

The one on the left is my AS-1 and on the right is my Eclipse. I call the AS-1 “Fat Boy” because of it’s 2x4 neck and full thickness body. I consider both exceptional but the AS-1 is pretty unique to me.

You might dig the Evertune, total set and forget deal outside of the occasional adjustment. Have you tried one yet?
I have not. I'm open to it though. There are a couple of baritone models as well as one in D standard he has that I'd dig i think. I think I like the idea of grabbing something for different tunings that I'm not forcing into being a gigging guitar.

It would definitely come in handy on something with lower tunings or any situation there could be some additional slack on the strings. Now that I'm doing a LOT more lead work with it I'm noticing the biggest drawback more often; the lack of sustain past the 12th fret. It's not terrible, but particularly frustrating when I go for a double stop on the G/B strings and the G-string dies out part-way through. Fortunately, it's so rare I'd need to hold out a note long enough to realize it that it's not a huge issue.

I'd like to try an E-type with a regular ToM style bridge to hear any other differences, but as long as I'm able to do Wylde squealies all over the place, I'm happy.
