Playing a JP guitar into a Mark is like peanut butter and jelly 🤌
I played my Majesty into my Dual Rec last night. That's like a Tuna fish and potato chips sandwich! :chef

Played the intro to Night Terror (among many other things) and it sounded just about perfect! Maybe just a bit more grit on it than the recording, but damn it was schweet!!

1978 Gretsch Chet Atkins "Super Axe," designed and built for sustain with a solid mahogany body and an on-board compressor. The previous owner replaced the stock humbuckers (included in the case) with Lindy Fralin humbucker sized P-90s. In addition to the compressor, it has an onboard phaser. The neck is 2 piece maple, with a somewhat thinner profile than I have been playing lately.

I'm getting ready for a solo guitar performance next week, and so have been playing this as much as possible to get acclimated to its feel and features. For the first couple of months after getting it, I was also playing my 1970s Gibson Johnny Smith (for open jazz jam sessions and joint practices). I suspended those activities temporarily for the past couple of weeks to play the Gretsch exclusively.

It's feeling more comfortable, but takes more concentration to maintain the feel. Today, just before taking a break, I was going through my "Beatles Suite," and got into the zone with the guitar and the songs. Then the Mrs. turned on the TV, which was loud, and it shocked me out of the zone. I realize now how fragile those musical zones can be, in particular for casual amateur players like myself.

But it's feeling more comfortable each day. I have the three pieces that I plan to play more or less under my fingers (Tired of Waiting for You, Beatles Suite, and Killer Joe). I also practice the set with a pedalboard, which I will use on the gig on Sunday, but tonight I was sitting on the couch in the living room. I had gotten about half way through, up to Lucy in the Sky, when the TV intervened.

This Emily Wolfe signature guitar has become a real favourite work horse staple here .
Everyone who has played it loves it and a few have bought them 👍
The three knobs are genius 👍
I’m still debating about buying the white version ???

Time to break up the GG streak:

I've had the 7-string version of this for 4 years now and still love it as much as I did on day one. So, when this one popped up at a local store, used, for like 1/4 of the new price I ran down there and grabbed it. I was expecting it to have something seriously wrong with it for the price, but other than slight signs of play, it's like-new. It's right there with the 7 as far as playability, tone options etc.

Hipshot bridge, Fishman Open Core pickups, push-pull tone knob to switch voicing. Light, well-balanced and killer action. It quickly pushed itself to the front of the line as far as go-to 6-strings in my "studio".

My only gripe is the way matte finishes "polish" from play. Both have it right between the pickups below the High E where my fingertips hit due to my crappy technique. #FirstWorldProblems
