Years ago I had Derek Trucks Sig SG that I loved, and it took a dinger when the singer
in our band got overexuberant messing around on a break and yanked it straight off
its stand and onto the garage floor. I saw it happen and couldn't stop it. It was brutal,
and when he is an ass to anyone in the band I remind him of that moment.
Miraculously the guitar was fine, except for one dinger on the edge of the headstock.
I had to end up selling the guitar, because it was never the same in my eyes.
I have seen so many guitars over the years take tumbles that I am OCD about how
they are handled. Even if they are not my guitars.
Make sure not to leave them out in the cold overnight, or in a hot locked car during the
day, too.
