What Guitar Are You Playing At This Very Moment...

In Fender world below 7.5lb is considered light and anything the wrong side of 8.5 lb heavy.

Planning a trip with the Mrs., picked up this basic travel guitar, along with a micro amp and clip-on tuner. Total weight 2.3kg, incl. amp, bag, tuner and strap. Bagged it’s 84cm long, easily fits in an overhead bin. Neck is comfortable enough while the HB pickup sounds fine. Seems to stay in tune, too.

Have owned, and sold, several other travel guitars, incl. the “silent,” backpacker, traveler and removable neck varieties, but this one’s a keeper. The micro amp is a usable bonus, with clean, OD and distortion plus reverb.

I have a live solo guitar set in mid March, so using this setup to practice tunes and the arrangements while traveling, for which it serves the purpose. Then upon return I’ll spend a couple weeks with the guitar to use for the set (PRS S2 Studio), a small pedalboard and a Henriksen Blu Six.

played my mayones for a long time last night. its amazing. i even put it away and turned everything off and thought i was done for the night and then went back a few minutes later and just played it acoustically. i feel super lucky to have that guitar, its awesome.

Details please.

I received a new neck from Musikraft that had no rolled edges. Didn't realize it until a couple years later so couldn't return it. Rolled the edges myself with a razor blade and some sandpaper a couple of months ago.

I was going to sell my extra 5150 neck, but my red San Dimas was overdue for a level/crown/dress and I wanted to try my newly-rolled 5150 neck. So I put it on the Charvel and now can't stop playing it. And it doesn't really look that bad, even though the reds don't match....

Why have ten shit guitars when you could have had one great one???
I don’t understand this. Obviously everyone should get whatever they want but I genuinely don’t get it.

My best Buddy does this. He's bought turd after turd in my eyes---and loves
what I see as total and complete junk. This past year he has really gone overboard.

I don't tell him that. I am his friend, and I want to continue to be his friend. :beer

I agree with you, in principle. In actual life, though, it can be more complicated
than that---and we all don't process the world the same, or have the same means,
or access.

But yeah.... even middle of the road is a step up over chasing every budget turd
swirling in the toilet of life.

(I have been known to chase a turd like it was gourmet chocolate. It can happen).

It was a genuine question, I don’t understand it at all and I see it often.
