Absolutely. Buying a new album back then was an event. The cover art, the liner notes, it was immersive. And no skipping tracks- you dropped the needle and settled in for the next 22 minutes.

It certainly was. I used to sit with my new Elton John album and read, sing, and memorize every word.

I know many of us are around the same age, and started listening to music when we were very young..., anyone else here used to think the bands were actually playing the songs at the radio station?
