What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

I tried to address the neck relief on my Schecter PT Classic (made in Japan), which appears to not have enough adjustment to get the relief right. Not a fan of neck heel adjustment wheels, dual action truss rods, which this has.
What is it now? It will almost certainly be able to get to the right spot.

It is a dual action truss rod. One way (to the left when sitting in my lap) past the middle point where it is disengaged is far too much neck relief. Turning it the other way until it is maxed out is still about .014-.016. It seems to never actually get to around .010 where it needs to be. Not a fan of neck heel adjustment wheels, and my first experience with a dual action truss rod isn't particularly a postive one.

Find the middle point. Then tighten it to touch the engagement and tune the guitar. Then tighten until you get to about 6/1000” it should easily achieve that. If you get to the end of the travel check nothing is stripped. There’s likely 5 full turns in both directions which would do anything.

It isn't getting to 0.010. It gets really tight to the right where I am unable to turn it any further and I do not want to strip it. .014 or so is about as close as it'll get. Turning it the other direction and it is far too much relief. Otherwise, it is one of the best gutiars I own, but the fact I can't set it up properly is really disappointing.

The next thing you can do is remove the neck and clamp it in to a slight back bow ant see if that frees up the rod to move .

Today I have replaced the tone pot with a push-pull on my J-Custom, to split the pickups.

It was surprisingly easy and quick to enlarge the hole to accommodate the new pot. I placed the new washer with tape over the existing hole, and used a small rounded file to enlarge it.

After:

Not rounded to perfection, but nobody can see it

Most complicated was to solder the wires to the super-switch, but mission completed.

BTW, both the Satchur8 bridge and the Gravity Storm neck sound great in split mode. As crispy, chimey and twnakgy as any damned Strat.

Wasn’t it automatically tapped by the 4 pole 5 way?

My Majesty came in with almost no relief whatsoever, and I couldn't add relief because the truss rod was maxed in that direction. I sent it in to Ernie Ball, they confirmed that it indeed had very little neck relief but that it is "within specs" and sent it back to me. They actually told me to put weight on the fretboard (carefully) to try and get the neck to move a bit, and it did the trick just enough to where I called it good and I haven't messed with it since. I think slowly over time it got a little better too. That whole ordeal pissed me off though!

I have had it since December and have had to adjust the neck twice. In addition, the neck is now maxed, and is likely going to be dropped off at Guitar Center for whatever they'll offer me. I don't care to deal with it as I have enough to deal with at work and elsewhere. It can be someone else's problem.
