Busy week in the evenings, fill in gig rehearsal Monday and tomorrow, my own band practice tonight, fill in gig Friday, then probably one more practice with my band before our first show of the year next Wednesday

Did some more mods on my Chibson Moderne.

Fitted some Wilkinson deluxe tuners and lifted the humbuckers ready for a new set.

I think I paid around £250 for mine from an eBay seller and it took two weeks to arrive from China.

Sat out on the porch on the first day that actually felt like Spring has arrived, and played my 2002 Taylor 712CE, working on an instrumental “Birds Medley,” consisting of “Free as a Bird” along with “Blackbird.” I had done these as part of a solo guitar “Beatles Suite” performed live on an electric with pedals, but needed some adjustment for unadulterated acoustic.

Overall lazy weekend guitar wise. Played a fill in show at a backyard private party on Friday, waaaaay more people there than I expected and it was very much a concert vibe rather than background entertainment so that was fun lol

Debuted the Strandberg live running into my vintage DR playing lots of jammed out covers and the bands original stuff as well


Today restringing my Ce-24 with 10s because I accidentally put 9s on it a couple months ago

So a buddy of mine hit me up maybe 10(?) years ago about one of these, I scrambled around and found out they were brought in by an American company from Japan in the 70’s…there were priced around $800 back then and would be right around $4k now.

His was and is one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. That thing is batshit crazy good. We’ve never even done a setup on it, just changed strings and we were completely reprehensive about that.

This one is:

OG 70s DiMarzios, TP bridge/tailpiece, OG brass nut, replaced with Orange drop caps and a new 3 way. Maple cap, Mahog body and neck...
