Maybe there was a method to Operation Mindcrime II setting the bar so low for Mindcrime III.

I have heard far worse.

I think I listened to the song on there with Dio at the very most? They had fallen wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off by then. I'll probably give this album a go.

My latest obsession has been the song McArthur Park, which I'm just now hearing fully. I kept hearing the "Someone left the cake out in the rain" song referenced in so many places...the Simpsons, a Neal Morse concert video, now most recently during Olympic figure skating.

Fucking weird that Donna Summer of all people made a version but I definitely prefer that version above all the others. Also...to me, Donna Summer will always be Aunt Oona from Altoona. IYKYK

Plowed through the new Exodus album this morning. Seeing a LOT of hate for it ("Force of Habit II: Shitty Album Boogaloo!"). Good lord what an unsatisfied bunch the internet is! Production is fantastic. The whole thing sounds KILLER. The songs for the most part are good. A bit all over the place in a good way and a lot more melodic guitar bits than I am normally used to. When people call an album a grower; I think this one fits that description to a T.

I feel like they had a huge riff salad and just slapped Rob on top of it. I like the dude's voice, actually; and think the "problems" he had were purely from a lack of stage "class" for lack of a better term. Sweat pants and hocking loogies just doesn't look professional. It's metal and has to be dangerous but not slummy and gross. His vocal tone is great to me. Not annoying like Souza's could be and on time to the music unlike Bailoff reportedly was. I think it's kind of late in the game to feel like they should be making left turns but this is as left turn as it is going to get for these guys. And I'm here for it!
