What are you listening to right now ?

Just has always felt and seemed weak and tired---like the band was pretty much done
at that point. I think they peaked in that lineup with 5150... and then OU812 and F.U.C.K
had some bangers. But by the time of Balance (for me) it just felt tired and worn out. :idk

The last Album with DLR, 1984, they were still banging out legendary gems. Nothing on
Balance, to my ears, is even close to that era of VH.

The world isn't right unless I listen to this in its entirety at least once a month.

You can thank me later for my efforts in preventing the world from imploding.

Balance is the Van Hagar version of Different Truth.

:sofa

Just so much other VH material I would prefer to revisit again and again. :idk

Fully realize others can hear it differently. :beer

It was enlightening for me to revisit that 1995 Guitar World interview with Eddie
and hear him say he dialed back the guitar pyrotechnics to emphasize the song-writing
and yet, for me, the songwriting is some of the weakest of in their Catalog. In my world
that classifies as ironic.

I agree. As a whole, I’ll take the early albums over the later any day. Although a lot of that has to do with my preference of Roth over Hagar.
