They were my father’s. Every album that I cut my teeth to was heard through them. They have that sound.
Yes they were Designed by Bart Locanthi The designer and Engineer of the Famous JBL L-100 Century speakers
he left JBL because pioneer wanted a L-100 Killer speaker and they did by all accounts the HPM are better than the L-100

there is a resemblance

What, no Advent? Klipsch? B&O? Cerwin Vega? :facepalm :rofl

One of my freshest teenage memories was when a friend's older brother sent us (in his car) to
go pick up a pair of Cerwin Vega speakers. Must have been 1983-4. We got so baked! :clint:idk

I'll never forget those Orange-ish surrounds.

Yes i did have a pair as well Cerwin Vega D5's ok for bass, i mean lots of it just boomy and muddy not to mention terrible fidelity in the mids and highs
My Older JBL's sounded so much better, even my Realistic Mach 1's were better sounding

This looks like those Fuzz Faces are slowly creeping up on EJ.

"Exterminate!"

One of the biggest reasons I want to start making my own Fuzz Faces is so when I come home there’s a pile like that staring up at me. I got a buddy who collects the large, plastic M&M’s, it’s kinda the same deal, just a lot cooler.

Same picture from a different angle. It's obvious the ones being held together with rubber bands have the inside track. I've read him swear that the rubber is the secret sauce.
