What are we watching now?

Interesting that was about the only thing I did know. It is called "The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother Hillel" and while I don't currently have Netflix and haven't seen how they are promoting it, the only things I heard/read about it is that his brother was behind it and how they used AI to recreate his voice to have him narrate.

I do plan to watch it next time we have Netflix.
Lol, my s/o suggested it, and kept calling it that "RHCP documentary", so that may be why I went into it thinking it was just about them.

It's pretty good.

the POV of the Chilis; not his literal family?

I think a bit of both, but I only read an article on it that said it focused on their friendship and Hillel's influence. The band was quoted as saying it was supposed to be a celebration of Hillel and not the band and that their only involvement was to do interviews.

I will definitely watch it at some point, but I also have to finish up some Apple TV shit first. We only do one sub at a time.

I'm waiting for Formula 1 to start back up.

Interesting that Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian seem to have hooked up.

Binged the first half of S1 of Shrinkage. What a great show. Pleasantly surprised on this one.

I had zero interest in that show based on the description, but my wife convinced me to watch it. I think it's great!

Apple doesn't have enough good content for us to keep a subscription all year, but their good stuff has been pretty good. Most of our favorite shows lately have been Apple series.

Yeah we'll probably do this month and bail unless something really catches us beyond this one? They do "warm hearted" shows really, really well. I have yet to see anything on the dark end of the spectrum on there. I enjoyed Slow Horses to a degree but that was about as "not happy" of a show as I can get on there. They have a fair bit of scifi but if it's not horror tinged; I am not watching it.

Our singer and our guitarist went and saw the Eagles in the Sphere with Gill. They said he was phenomenal.

Lot of "recuperation" time these past few days so watching stuff when I can. Just watched Project Hail Mary. Little long if I had any complaint but 100% THE BEST movie of this type of movie ever. Gosling is a charming motherfucker and knows how to work a film. HIGHLY recommend.

Binged the rest of Shrinking over the weekend. Probably one of the best, emotionally satisfying shows I have ever watched. Very impressed. Talk about great writing. I'd argue in Harrison's top tier of performances. Where he played what I would call of caricature of himself and play it right. Hilarious. Jason Segal is like Seth Rogan without me wanting to constantly punch him but I had none of those kinds of vibes towards him in this. Everybody playing to their strengths and killing it.

Great show

We realized we hadn't seen the last season of Snowpiercer and watched that. It was terribly written overall and a pretty weak ending to the series. Not that it was that great in the first place, but fun enough.

Started 'Big Mistakes' last night. New Dan Levy thing on Netflix. Dude knows a great formula when he sees it. Basically super irritating characters doing the dumbest things possible in the most annoying ways possible. While being hilarious. Not for those who get annoyed with obnoxiousness but if you can laugh at that sort of thing; it's truly something

I seriously can't stand the guy. I don't even know why because I can't watch him long enough to figure it out! He just has this way of being instantly annoying and supremely punchable. I wonder if he is related to Leo Gibson?
What's weird is there was a point where I did like him? His schtick was funnier to me when he was younger? He just irks me now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just finished that season, really enjoyed it. His sister is just terrific in this.

I think so? :ROFLMAO: Seth Rogan.
I find them both annoying, but Rogan is more consistently written into characters/ plots where he's supposed to be annoying? Jason Segal just weirds me out irrespective of context. Serious drummer energy. (Yes, that drummer LOL.)

I was a little less enthusiastic about Shrinking than everyone else here. It was mostly excellent and entertaining, but also occasionally lazy and obvious. On balance, somewhere in the "good" to "very good" zone.
