What are we watching now?

Two things:

1. Good lord do I find her attractive. Something about her eyes.
2. The S/O is pretty good at the whodonit thing, she bats like, .1000, but I don't, and I've given up with this one, because I don't know WHERE the hell they are going, lol.

The acting is :chef in this one. There is nothing normal/easy about any of these characters, and they are nailing it, IMO.
She's definitely playing a number of different angles depending on the interaction in question. The whole "SPEAK UP" and throwing random curse words to establish dominance is VERY annoying

I think it's either she saw the money and couldn't help herself OR the husband decided to pull the plug for some reason and thought he could slip by and still get the life insurance money to his wife and stepson. It's a toss up right now.

As someone who recently visited West Texas I have to say the way Landman captures the
light and atmosphere of West Texas is fucking amazing, and a bit hypnotic. It blows me
away, to be honest. How they captured that vast expanse is so cool. Especially when
lighting/cinematography in a lot of TV/Movies seems to be all about the darkness and
creating moody/vibey/ominous settings.

Great show! We all bitches for Oil and Drugs, aren't we? :idk

I've got that on my list to watch. Always liked Billy Bob's movies.

It's a bit schlocky and soap-opera-ish in parts. It's what that Sheridan guy does
with all of his shows. Think Dallas or Dynasty for the new Millennium.

Which is why I love the way it was/is shot so much.

I haven't watched a movie in months but I stumbled across the trailer for Backrooms and now I need to see it.

I hadn't ever heard of Backrooms before, after seeing the trailer and reading a few comments I've watched just about all of the series. It's insane that a 16 year old made these, and it's awesome he gets to produce a big budget version now.

Closest thing I have found to this is the MyHouse.WAD Doom mod that came out a few years ago and is just insane. I'm guessing it's heavily inspired by the same random Internet thread.

Finally got round to watching One Battle After Another. Wasn't sure for the first half hour but persevered and was rewarded by the end. Leonardo very good again, as were the whole cast.

Watched that Red Hot Chili Peppers doc over the weekend. Spoiler thoughts below:

So, um, yeah, it was good, and you see the history and rise of the band, but, as a casual fan of theirs over the years, I didn't even know they HAD an original guitar player, much less what his name was, and this whole doc is like, centered around him. I was watching to find out about THEM, this dude wasn't Jimi Hendrix, so, I'm not sure why the whole thing seemed to be about him.

I need to watch this. Early Chilis were so awesome and almost painfully so in comparison to what they became. Hillel and Frusciante were both excellent players and definitely came from that dawn of the 90s thing where everyone wanted to be Hendrix minus the mind altering performance aspects.
