What are we watching now?

Oh yeah, I snuck in a binge-watch of Black Rabbit a few weeks ago. (My god, I've been sitting on my ass a lot.) A few missteps (like trying to pass off the brothers' former band as "punk", cringe) but enjoyable overall.

Yeah I am glad they kept the "band" as a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry distant plot device. It would not have held up under really any sort of scrutiny

It brought to mind that Netflix drama "The Sound of Metal", whose main character is described as a "heavy-metal drummer", but whose band was clearly some kind of punk/ art rock/ performative experiment. Have the people who write these screenplays ever listened to actual music?

Have I ever mentioned my seething hatred for the movie "Rock Star"? :wat:cuss:LOL:

Dang dude I loved that movie! How can you not love that scene where he's recording We All Die Young? :ROFLMAO: :chef:D
It's the assumption that every metalhead is an idiot coupled with Mark Wahlberg playing the lead character

Arrested Development Eye Roll GIF

Bit gatekeep-y on my part, admittedly

I also have a soft spot for it since it's loosely based on the Ripper Owens/Judas Priest story.
That is also another thing. I should have a soft spot for it for this very same reason but I feel let down with it so it irked me even more because of that fact! Maybe I should rewatch it? :nails
