Stoked for you Dave
BTW you have Cable OCD, like me everything needs to be neat and tidy I noticed :grin

:beer

There's only two things that give me anxiety if they're not organized; cables and any the various paperwork/certificates/inspection sheets the city inspectors need when they come on the campus. If I could organize my life like I can a pedalboard....damn...

Today, it’s a Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120. It’s behind me on stage, under the Peavey combo. Part of the backline at this venue I play at regularly, so not my amp. I also use their Fender Tonemaster, to the left behind the trumpet player. I prefer the Tonemaster, since the JC can get a bit glassy at times, but it worked with this combo and guitar.

I'll be jamming today with my good friend who is an excellent keyboard player. He also played trumpet in Maynard Ferguson's band years ago .

I'll be using a Peavey Classic 20 head (clean channel) and a cab with a WGS ET65 in it. Extra push comes from a Critter CFR (klone).

We will probably be doing our usual Steely Dan schtik which we did for years when our full band was together along with other stuff.

I've tried many preamps into that Peavey and all have sounded fantastic (valvenergy, tech21 leeds, amt), That speaker is a key component too.

He's been playing 45 years or something
When I saw this @Warmart I did some quick math and came up with a higher number  but your neighbor is essentially right about tube amps being wonderful, except for the SS and Modeling ones that are great too. Simply depends on which brand. Quality is Quality.

He plays his Kemper Floor everyday, too, but loves his tube amps just for that extra feel.

Gigged the badlander for the second time tonight…. T-topped on my EVM loaded thiele. Sounded glorious, gig was amazing killer turnout for a Thursday night in a town 1.5hrs away from home base. super cool stage/sound/light rig and I wasn’t asked to turn down at all even coming in pretty hot on the volume….

Still have some level balance issues with this amp when it comes to my live looping during channel switches, but the benefits outweigh the cost. Shit sounds so good, especially with the ikon archer in the mix :love

EVM Thiele is the best 1x12 cab ever made.

Pretty much agree… I probably do almost equally like my Mesa closed back widebody 1x12 (has some porting as well although not the same as a thiele) loaded with a C90….. that’s also amp dependent though. I know lots of people aren’t necessarily fans of the MC90s but I absolutely love it in that cab. I’ve had various Mesa combos over the years with the same speaker that I’ve been pretty meh on… but I chalk that up to the fact that those are always open back combos with wonky dimensions. I’ve never been able to jive with an open back. My mark IV before I did a head conversion sounded absolutely horrid with the c90 in there lol. That wide body just kicks ass though… ESPECIALLY paired with my mark V

But yeah, EVM thiele just kicks absolute ass it’s a monster :love

I’ve had one for thirty years and it’s still my favourite smaller cab. I have a recto 2x12 that is pretty decent and a custom built Marshall 4x12 but it doesn’t get much use anymore but I keep it because Paul Marshall asked me what I wanted out of a 4x12 and he had it made for me.
Straight all ply black levant stereo, British V30s black cloth small logo. Killer with my VH4.
