Curious how my modded 87x compares to a stock model boosted?

Isn’t yours a Monomyth? If so it’s basically an entirely new amp built in the chassis, it’ll have little to nothing in common with a 1987x.

i just did this velvet revolver song today going for a rocking thing, its my LTD PB500, EHX gloveOD boosting and a k100. i gotta get a toneX and make some profiles. some proper Slayer clips would probably be cool too

thanks!! its different from anything else i have, im gonna guess its the KT88's, its kind of smoother and has a thick roundness thats unique.

Is it the Schumacher transformers as in the Rev + Krankenstein? or old Sovtek Mig parts? curious to see the guts and inside if you’ve ever peeked too.

Would have been really interesting to know what would have happened had that amp gone into production as a Krank product. I think the Marshall version is cool and makes sense, but Krank having Dime and Kerry would have been interesting.

It is 70s spec now, that's how I like my Plexi.

The modern stock reissue 1987x comes with '68 specs:
820+0.68uF
0.022uF
100k from 8ohm tap

Yes.

Pretty sure many, if not all, of the Monomyth mods are tweaks vs rebuilds.

I know for the Origin amps he mods them to JCM800 then tweaks them.

It looks like they literally just put the board of the MXR 10 Band EQ in there. Jacks and all. Fucking awesome.
