Some prefer active farts btw, I like low output farts.

Since I stopped gigging that has become less important and I have lots of things that are great at one particular thing. My Suhr Modern is pretty good at most things . There’s not much my RG can’t do either;

Most of my HH guitars have coil options and can cover a lot of ground too.
There isn’t much you can’t do on a Tele either.

Definitely my Gilmour Strat. The EMG's can do a convincing enough humbucker sound that I have no problem doing anything with high gain and that guitar, then every other tone a Strat can do.

I used to have a set of SAs. Which pickups are in the Gilmour Strat? I still have the mid boost control thing (SPC?).

They're SAs, but with the active boost controls. It is versatile. I recently put the DG set back in a strat too. Hadn't used them in probably 12 yrs, but glad they're getting some love again.

I do like the RG but it’s not really my thing. I had the RG655 recently but traded it away for a Triamp mk 2.

Technically I have other guitars that are more versatile, but if I was headed into a situation where I don’t know what I’ll be asked to play the guitar I’m bringing is my black Strat.

It’s the guitar I feel the most confident covering anything that gets thrown at me because I can’t think of a single style of music I haven’t used it for. That guitar and I have done it all together over the past 29 years.
