Hi.

I’m a noob when it comes to keyboards and midi.
How would I go about using it live (changing sound on the unit, not on mac/ipad)?

I understand how to use a midi keyboard but have no experience using one live.
Is it logical to use garage band (just as an example) and load up all different sounds that I use in the set on different tracks, then assign keyboard buttons/pads to select the one I want to use and mute all others?

Typing in “midi keyboard live” to youtube brings up hundreds of P&W videos, wtf is this about?

Most keys players who use midi usually run them through a Daw of choice via laptop or pad. If you have a similar setup at home, you should be fine extrapolating it to a live environment.

And it's no coincidence that you got P&W videos because church keyboard players do this all the time. The whole P&W notion aside, there's some great tutorials on how to set up a good rig.

For live you'd like Apples Mainstage, very convenient for midi keys.
