Tube power amps !

I would turn away a VHT 2150 or Marshall 9100, but the LXII taking up one rack unit is the perfect mix of sound and size.
I actually think I like the Classic best but a 4U cast iron block is unhelpful to put it mildly. I would have preferred the LXII to have the same control layout as the 2/50/2 though. It does sound almost the equal and it’s feature set is unique.

The 9100 and VHTs have always spoken to me on aesthetics and power. And my repaired hernia :cop:rofl

There's a 4 ton Riviera power amp (called the Hammer iirc?) that I always wanted to try as well.
Had a120 ok but no VHT

I'm still in love with and enjoying my Mesa 2:90. It's been helping me rock out for the past 30 years, and still going strong.

It will never again be used outside my studio because I have better portable options that won't destroy my "old man" back. :rofl

Ok I was going with the LXII Fryette but my friend has a VHT 2/50/2 in his home studio and isn’t using it and sold it to me . I sent back the LXII which was an ex demo so they were happy to have it back. I also got to AB test them with my rig. I could make the 2/50/2 sound as flat as the LXII and I just prefer the way it sounds . I installed it for him and it’s never been out of situ , totally as new and hardy used.

You owe it to yourself to get a better preamp to go with that. Triaxis or Formula for mark sounds or X88ir for everything.
Naah. Had a Triaxis already before and din't like it. Tried Marks, they din't do anything for me. Got a Mesa Boogie amp now, and had another one before but they are/were of the tamer variety. For more than 20 years now that Marshall JMP-1 preamp has done everything I ask of it from classic rock to metal. And it takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
