Tsakalis Audioworks Mothership Preamp

To me it sounds like its main issue is exactly like the Friedman IRX, namely a fairly barebones, if any, poweramp simulation. The product page does not seem to claim it has any poweramp sim in the first place, but in a device meant to also run with IRs, I think that's essential.

It sounds much better when Leon plugs it into the Synergy poweramp, really nice actually. Works fine even as a tube overdrive in front of a clean amp.

They seem to have really good products, but not many places stock their products here in the US. I tried to buy a Room #40, but none of the big box stores have any and any pedal I buy I want to have the 45 day option to return if it doesnt work for my setup. Especially top dollar pedals.

It's bad enough to have a handful of cheap pedals laying around, but the Room #40 is about $269 and this is $550. I don't want to have to worry about selling it on Reverb or other if it doesnt do it for me.

IMO, they should have better distribution if they want to sell more product here in the US.

Looks like they updated the product page with confirmation that there is indeed some sort of power amp sim included.
