I’ve never changed pickups in any guitar
I actually like a lot of their pickups. The 85/15 is awesome, DGT pickups are great. American Silver Sky are some of the best singles I’ve played.
Nailbomb, muddy What did you play it through????I once tried a Bare Knuckle Nailbomb bridge pickup, way too muddy/ unfocused for a particular guitar.
Then I dropped in a Carvin M22SD pickup, that pickup was the ticket.
As far as GFS goes, I tried the Overwound Hex pickup set from the Clearence section and it was a better pickup than the Dimarzio Evolution set that I got for my 1984 RR/ Jackson.... that happens !!!!
Newer PRS USA pickups are just about ok but in general I don't like them. I put Throbak 101s in my PRS.I guess I've just never been able to wrap my ahead around what the appeal of "budget" brands are for something like a pickup when an SD or Dimarzio don't cost that much more. Seems like a weird place to skimp
The 85/15s are some of my favorite pickups of all time ever. Supreme clean tones and just the perfect bite and aggression for brootz
And contrary to the stereotype that PRS pickups are dark... the 85/15 set is very bright imo
I’ve never changed pickups in any guitar
Dimarzio ‘57’s in there now, much more better.

An Eleven Rack >>>> two VHT Valvulator 1's >>>> VHT Pitbull / Carvin V3 ( in stereo) >>>> four early 1980's Laney 4x12 cabs with two Fane / Greenbacks speakers in each cabinet.Nailbomb, muddy What did you play it through????
Those are pretty great. Every time I install a set for someone they make the guitar sound better. Very nice pickups, very expensive here in the US.Newer PRS USA pickups are just about ok but in general I don't like them. I put Throbak 101s in my PRS.
It’s not the Nailbombs. An Eleven Rack >>>> two VHT Valvulator 1's >>>> VHT Pitbull / Carvin V3 ( in stereo) >>>> four early 1980's Laney 4x12 cabs with two Fane / Greenbacks speakers in each cabinet.
We should all be using Mighty Mite Motherbucker pickups and just calling it a day. The perfect pickup.
Google thinks the name of this pickup is either..
Good lord this x bazillion! It’s not the Nailbombs.
The signal path is weird. Eleven rack in to vilvulator in to front end of two tube amps???? Or just the fx return? It would have sounded vastly better to just use the Pitbull on its own.
The second one is right.Google thinks the name of this pickup is either..
