This is excellent!

Thanks for posting this @Eagle. Fascinating.

WTF is that cream thing on the back of his Tyler? I kept getting distracted while staring at it.
It is the cutaway. Some have no paint on there.

I quite like that finish apart from that bit. Why would they do that?
I’m guessing it’s a Landau thing.
But just don’t get the y2k finish (which is the unfinished forearm contour).
My assumption always been that it’s so you don’t get stuck on the guitar if you sweat like a beast.

My Tylerbastor, Burning Water Classic, and SE Hazmat Shmear all had finished forearm contour.

How come that this little encounter ended in more traffick at our Soundcloud? As if people want to check my music before my arguments. Is this a guitar player thing? Either you jerk off your spade like Eddie Van Halen or you are full of shit?

Well, I hold no grudge. At least the vid got some attention and the poster praisings for the actual content. I am the bad guy sometimes, but nothing is as bad that it ain’t good for something, right?

May you enjoy your spades as much as I enjoy my guitar samples and strum machines.

Well there is a train of thought that goes something like... If you can play, having a strong opinion is likely more valid then the guy being 6 month from barring his first F major chord.

music is also so much about taste,

This for example might be wowww so awesome for some..and for others a "what, are you playing a game of how many notes you can play in 15 seconds?"

And ability, don’t you get sick of mono tonal illiterate three note solos? Wow feel!
It should be relevant however many notes.
I never hear this complaint from anyone capable of playing like Dani.
The clip also has no context.

I enjoy some nice shredding, but it's all about the context of the song too. Taking a chance and 'going off' with solos is fun and it challenges not only the player, but the listener. Some don't like to be challenged in this way and prefer something they deem more tangible, which is fine.

It might be a listeners vs practicioner type of thing? Some people also really enjoy Joe Bonemmassa.

To some extent because dissonance is challenging to the listeners expectations, hence 2 5 1s to not keep you waiting for resolution too long. Its a problem if it goes nowhere and ends on the root every line ,that's just plain illiterate. Three note solos can be wonderful but they almost never are.

I cannot get enough of these marbinmusic videos. The guy is such an incredible teacher. He has a way of presenting new information that's disarming and very easy to absorb. He also presents things I already knew (i.e. wheels I spent too long "inventing" myself) in a way that makes them clearer and more valuable. Half an hour pouring over one of these video before my typical nightly shredfest is making practice feel a lot more rewarding. Wish this kind of information had been available to me decades ago.

Absolutely!!
I think most teachers don’t understand it well enough to explain as clearly and concisely as Dani.
I like the way he tells it like it is as well.

Bonus: he's occasionally laugh out loud funny. :D

The videos are so good, they almost undercut his own Patreon subscription model. Like, there's enough for free on YouTube to keep me busy for... who knows how long? And I almost worry that any more would be more than I could handle anyway.

You must be new to guitar forums.

A description of functions of intervals won’t make you any melodies. Just like a description of word classes won’t write novels for you. The title of the vid is misleading then. Bait?
Everything has to be bait these days.
This is how working musicians have to survive, I guess.

Channel is good. Gets to the point.
Go for his longer videos and find small nuggets of valuable info.

I just watch him noodle livestream and explore sounds, no talking.

As to the melodies in your head, there’s more out there in the world if you feel like exploring.
