Oh hell yes.

IMO the non master volume Bassman 50 heads from the early/mid 70s are one of the best deals in gear right now. They sound fantastic and it’s easy to find people who work on them. Plus you can very easily turn the bass channel into a JCM800 or Trainwreck.

I need to verse myself in Bassmans, they pop up regularly down here for $1500 and under but I have no clue which ones are the "good" ones. Almost all my couch noodling is done with a Bassman model set to edge of breakup, I spend more time with that kind of tone than I do any metal tone these days.

Bassmans are always the non-heavy amps I grab when getting out of my comfort zone with something i have no idea wtf I am doing :rofl

Stay away from the 70, 100, 135. Look for a Bassman Amp or Bassman 50 from literally any era, they sound awesome. You can install a PPIV master volume and it can crunch up pretty damn nice. It’s not metal, but it’s awesome.
