The Hx 3.9 fw thread

If you're looking for timely updates you'll have to buy a Stadium. 3.9 on OG Helix is going to be a looooong wait.

Any hints about what's coming for the Helix? And any approximate release date?
I've been thinking about that lately... Would be awesome to at least get a quick acknowledgement there's indeed gonna be another update for the OG Helix at some point in the near future.

@Digital Igloo ?

I suppose some of the amps and effects could possible trickle down from Stadium firmware, eh?

Digital Igloo (August 6.2025) :
Whatever we make for Stadium that works within the architecture and DSP considerations of Helix/HX could certainly be added in future firmware updates. So at the very least, new cabs, new effects, new quality of life improvements, certainly bug fixes

I'm sharing my excitement about my work with Helix. I've been making real cab IRs for various pedalboards (including Helix) for a few years now, and during one of the many demonstrations I do to let people try my work, I decided to Capture my HX Stomp with an amp and a specific IR I made. I wanted it to sound and feel just like the new Dumble ODS that QC recently released with its stock cab. I uploaded it to the QC cloud so my friends who own one could compare my Helix recording to the Dumble with the original stock cab, doing A/B mixing themselves on their QC pedals, without any video tricks (you can't really perceive the feel through video, and that's crucial here).

To my amazement, this past weekend, NDSP selected my Helix HX Stomp recording with an amp and IR from among the thousands in the cloud and uploaded it to their website's main menu for download for the Nano! So what you're hearing there is the HX Stomp!!! I really couldn't be happier with this.

Fwiw, I don't think we'll see any more significant updates to the OG platform. I think L6 has a lot of things to work on with the new series, so when it's about time something could "trickle down" into the OG line, it might as well be too late.

Agreed, it’s also objectively the best way forward imo. The helix line is incredibly robust and has been the flagship for 10 years. I’d rather see them steamroll ahead with stadium and helix is what it is and that’s it.

Probably some minimal updates and bug fixes but I’d be happy to see 95%+ dev time on the newer units.

I guess they have the numbers and if the original helix line is still being bought at retail in droves then it makes sense to wow the user base. But yeah at some point the old stuff is just a weight and constant dev consideration time, just gotta cut it off at some point like the axe2 and it is what it is.

I don’t know if this will necessarily be true. I think with Agoura modeling, there will no longer be any amp updates but I think effects will be added periodically. DI had mentioned they weren’t going to “gatekeep” development, and with Stadium’s effects all being HX, plus the fact it can load HX presets, i think new effects can still be added for both platforms. Now, if the decide to Agourafy the effects down the road, that to me would be more of a signal of HX development wrapping up.
