I’ve been on a year long hunt for a Gibson Standard to round out 2025. That’s a beautiful example of their current stuff. I’d that Iced Tea?

Yeah, Iced Tea Burst. It’s been such a great guitar. I just had to get the frets leveled/crowned a few months ago because I’ve played it so much. The only thing I wasn’t personally crazy about on the ‘60s models are the Burstbucker 61 pickups. I like the pickups on the ‘50s model much better

I also had this LP studio with a pair of Creamery pick ups and replaced knobs.

I'm don't like all back guitars and tried to fix it with no luck.

At some point had skull speed knobs.

I like how they want your address AND want to know what "significant guitars" you have.:clint
"The grand prize may not be resold within the first two (2) years, and after this period it can only be sold through Carter Vintage on consignment at standard rate and fees."

Maybe it might be nice if you win to, I don't know, keep it and play it?
I mean, it’s free, so not gonna complain about whatever strings they choose to attach.

But assuming that a sight-unseen guitar is gonna be a keeper regardless of (dare I say especially because of) its vintage is pretty unrealistic in my world.

Fair enough

@DrewJD82 I really must thank you again for bringing Edwards guitars to my attention with your posts. I knew nothing about them before, but I've had my LPS for a year now and hardly play any of my other guitars anymore. The Edwards is perhaps the best guitar I've ever owned.

Awesome!! :)

I used my White Edwards LP Custom to play a gig this past Halloween. First break we are on and
a guy comes up and goes, "I have a White Les Paul Custom, too. What year is yours?"

Uh-oh! Not an headstock reader, I suppose.

He was cool, though. Told him it was an Edwards. We chat. He says he will go home and get his,
so I can check it out. I don't think I'll see him again. Then he walks back in about an hour later with a
Gibson case. It was a 1991 White Custom. He demanded I play it. So I did. Ripped out a few
songs on it during our 3rd set, and then when I went back to the Edwards I enjoyed the feel and
tone more. Go figure. Probably familiarity more than anything. :idk

I have had a few Gibson Customs in the past and don't miss them---especially the miniscule
frets.
:facepalm

The resale on the Gibsons is pretty great, too, so there is that.

Please excuse the Headrush. :sofa:crazy

I got this about a month ago and haven't put it down since. It somehow instantly became my main guitar despite being a Tele / Strat guy for the last 40 years.

It's a 2023 M2M R0 in Tangerine Gloss. I had to trade my '77 Les Paul Pro and a full summer's worth of gig money for it despite it being on in-store-clearance and $2200 off list. 100% worth it.
