JAKE E LEE IS PERFORMING AT AN OZZY SHOW!!!!! That’s fucking NUTS!!!!

And those core headliners are basically my diet; AIC, LoG, Mastodon, Gojira, Metallica, Pantera…..for fucking real? The only thing that would make that any better is Faith No More.

When I saw him in 2018 he was flat most the night, I dunno if there was autotune being used in parallel or they had a doubler or both on his voice, but he was certainly flat the majority of the set…..and I fucking loved it.

It was a festival show and all day long I saw people lip syncing/relying on tracks, namely Shinedown (and that dude is a GREAT vocalist) and Bullet For My Valentine (:barf) as it was REALLY fucking evident they were lip syncing, but there was a plethora that day of it. Having Ozzy come out, having a blast onstage and mustering everything he could to deliver imperfection was refreshing and endearing.

That's a bummer about Shinedown - I stopped listening to them after their second album but Brent Smith is a great vocalist. They really went heavy into overproduced pop-rock after their original guitarist left in my opinion. This *need* for perfection in live shows (even for TV) is just dumb.

I saw a clip of Nirvana with some guest vocalists at the recent benefit show in LA...St. Vincent had all kind of issues with her monitoring during her song and it was awesome and real with slightly off timing etc...but it was live and not perfect as it should be!

I went to The End tour by Sabbath
Although Ozzy struggled vocally, the rest of the band was superb.
Glad I went to see it!

Yep, I saw them in Bochum on that tour. And as far as I remember, Ozzy's vocals were fine that evening. I loved every second of the show, goosebumps from beginning to the end.

I actually discovered Black Sabbath quite late in life, when I was over 30. I've always loved music that was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, but for whatever reason I'd never looked into the original. What a mistake!

That lineup is incredible.

Well, I'm going to see DT next month, so I guess I too will be treated to mediocre-at-best-but-at-least-he's-singing vocals.

I saw their debut tour opening for Tantric in 2004. My friend was playing guitar in Tantric
at the time and before the show he was all, "You have to hear the singer in Shinedown." He
was not easily impressed, so I knew to take note. :idk

I agree they changed so much---and a lot of it was drug-induced. Most of the band was
on pills and I even saw a prescription drug deal go down in the parking lot that night.
You could tell the band as it was constructed was not going to last.

They went from cool and interesting to overproduced, boring, and lame. We still play
a few of their songs in our band when the mood strikes us.
 
That's an epic fucking lineup. Honestly, given where Ozzy is reportedly at health wise
I am not convinced Sharon can pull this off and wheel him out there in Axl's Throne
so he can do the show.

Seriously. Anyone else concerned this may not even happen? :idk

Yeah, that first album, Leave A Whisper, is pretty great. Just straight up, good rock tunes and no gimmicks. I dug some stuff from their second album but I think after that I was out. I wish the singer and guitarist would do more stuff like this-

 
We used to do "Heroes" in the rock cover thing I was in years ago. Super fun song, all things considered.
