The Edge ditched his tube amps for residency

After watching It Might Get Loud, I have a feeling the Edge doesn't have a clue how any of his gear actually works. He needed his roadie to adjust pretty much anything that wasn't accessible on his pedalboard.

And its not that surprising that the Edge didn't use a real amp for the Sphere. They didn't have any amps on stage, neither did Phish. Was at the Dead & Company shows this weekend, and they all used amps, but they weren't typical concert level loud. In fact, it was relatively quiet for a concert. It was by far the best mix I've ever heard for a venue of that size, and every instrument was crystal clear, almost like an audiophile sound system. Between the sound, the moving seats, and the insane visuals, it was an ultra sensory overload. Highly recommend that everyone gets out there to see a show.

You gotta go dude, it's incredible. Heard a rumor that Tool would be the next residency, only to see its the fucking Eagles. :barf

I believe it, or maybe backstage. I guarantee Trey ain't running no UA pedal amp.

I'd imagine if Tool does it, they'll take the time to develop video specifically for the place and put some serious effort behind that before jumping into the place.

Those pictures are absolutely crazy. I have zero interest in Vegas but I'll absolutely fly out for a show there.

It makes no sense…The Vegas shows are set it & forget until cirque de soleil or the blue man group need the stage. The Vegas shows are climate controlled, etc., it’s like having your amp at home in your room where it never moves.

Have a good one,

Yeah, sorry, thought you were talking about this. Didn’t know they did it again with the phone

Haha, I forgot about that one. Yeah, Apple did it with an iPhone update. It wasn’t even a good U2 album. Steve Jobs just had a stiffy for Bono.
