The assumptions people make

Anywhere where there is a bunch of people with opinions! Here is no better from the outside I'm sure! :rofl

I just found it hilarious that because I don't think £200 is affordable (and it isn't! not for most people!) that this means I'm using shitty Behringer pedals.

I think affordability can also be weighed up against capabilities. Those UA pedals are quite limited, compared to more expensive that does so much more, meaning they can quite often be more affordable in the long run, because you ultimately spend less money; in theory.

I think this forum actually covers a wide income range, but obviously due to the nature of much of the gear discussed here it does appear to lean a bit toward people who still have the discretionary income available to own some fairly nice stuff.

Having said that, it would be nice if we keep the division out of here. A person with a little more money in his pocket is not superior to someone with a little less, and the jabs from either end of the spectrum add nothing but bad vibes to the community. What I mean by that is that a comment like “Only trust fund babies own those” is just as inflammatory as the Behringer comment was.

Well I ain't got no shame on my financial status

Episode 12 Snl GIF by Saturday Night Live

I’m doing well financially, but am busting my ass to achieve it. I’m up for work every morning at 1:30AM, eleven hour days are the norm, and there are maybe two or three times a year when I actually get two days off in a row. I have not taken a single unscheduled day off in the past three years, and there was none of this “working from home” stuff when things got really crazy. And I chose to do this due to the financial security that results.

I got tired just reading that. Respect.
