I wonder how it will show params. One of the nice things about the X3/X5 is that you can see each slot's params easily in the edit mode.

And fwiw, it's completely beyond me how they don't add a CTL input to achieve simple things such as tap tempo. But then, not even the X3/5 can do that (which is just uber lame and one of the main reasons I didn't buy them at one point in time where I could've needed such a pedal).

I still love my Plethora 3 for a straight up mod/delay/verb pedal. Love the sounds in my H9, but harder to use. I still have and use an SA Collider, TC HOF Verb 2, and still for a static 3 effect unit, the Plethora wins for me.

This also made me have an epiphany on another way to use a Tonex One. Defeat the AMP and CAB blocks and setup up 2 limited, but basic FX chains (Comp, Mod, Delay, Verb, and EQ) and in performance mode, switch between them using a mini sized pedal. You could even get a Y cable and stereo out.

I think we get your point, you don't like TCE FX. Maybe this thread isn't for you
There's better stuff for sure, live for basic mod/d-lay, verb, the PX3 works fine for me.

Ugh… one switch pedals with a gazillion stuff is my nightmare… the bigger Plethora pedals looks more nice to me.

For me, the biggest downside of the X3 has been that it doesn't even come with an EXP input. No way to tap in tempos (which is a crucial thing for me) with an external switch, and to do that with the unit's switches, you have to hold-press the switch in question. Only to end up with the tapped tempo not being valid globally but for the very delay loaded in that switch'es slot.
And it's not even getting better with the X5 - while it has an EXP input, from all I know it can't be used to tap a tempo.
That's really just uberlame. I mean, my old Zoom G3 can do that stuff.

My needs are basic, none of my FX are ever heavy in the mix. No U2 type needs. I have an H9 and an FM3 if I ever need more intense applications.
