Fortin Killer Kali module is now listed on Thomann:

I like it a bit it definitely replaces the aggressive top end people say Freidman lack
But man that’s bright AF
Maybe it the Syn 20 but there is very little lows , in a mix it probably sounds killer but in isolation I don’t think I could listen to that long at volume

Those bright switches really cause that piercing brightness to come through. With those disengaged, I'm sure it's a pretty tamed sound.

I'm really impressed how much stuff they managed to cram in there. That slope resistor adjustment (EQ Shape) is a great touch. I can see this become the "go-to" module for a lot of rock->metal (and everything in between) players.

IMO those sounds need those big value bright caps.

The way to use them is to run your gain higher so the bright cap effect is less drastic, then roll your guitar volume and tone back to compensate. Then you can make it brighter or gainier right from your guitar.

I’d like to hear Leon’s tones in a mix. Although it may not sound pleasing in isolation, I’m thinking it might work very well with a band. The IR he uses tends to favor this.

If I was a Synergy owner already I'd be grabbing the Kali module... but I'm still not sure it's enough to get me into their ecosystem, just a different mindset vs owning amps. Seems pretty versatile with the EQ shifting as well as the other options. Very clever addition to give the one module a lot of latitude.

Links for days, I liked Kohle's walkthru
