Stick with Mac or move to Windows?

This is a pretty elegant solution to a problem that should not exist. You can save hundreds of dollars by getting this and a good 2+ TB M.2 drive vs buying it from Apple.

Apple can forever go fuck themselves for not using standard M.2 drives especially in their desktop units. I can somewhat forgive it for laptops, but never for desktops.

I agree. I miss the good old days of buying a bare quad core Mini, then loading it with RAM and swapping to an SSD.

I use both almost everyday. If I could choose to use just one it would be a M series Mac. I have a M4 MacBook Air ($1200 model with 16GB memory, 10 core GPU, 512GB SSD) and it runs Logic Pro, Final Cut, Lightroom, etc. much better than my old loaded intel iMac 5K all in a tiny battery powered laptop. If you’re running huge sessions you might want to bump up the specs, but for most users a base model is probably going to work great.

I'm using both (for different things)
Owned a PC shop for 20+ years.

Both systems have their plusses and minuses.
Worked with reaper on both and had no issues

Switched to the Mac (which i used mainly for my photography and video) for logic and it's much easier to create aggregrated audio devices.

I'm using an x32 but also a 1820 for external gear and a small spiff interface. All seen as one big interface.

When logic introduced the session players for me as a home recording hobbyist (always open for collabs) it was game over. For starting points it's so much faster.

Horses for courses and for creatives i feel more at home at macs .

The m series are insanely fast
Im using a m4 pro (upgraded for the screen) it's very handy to have everything on one machine when moving around a lot. At home i connect it to a dock with one cable and ready to go.

Time machine alsof gives peace
Had one laptop die on me due to human failure. And was up and running again in 2 hours.
