Speaking of Nu; this guy will be going to his first LB concert next year.

I also think it somehow lends them some charm to have these oddball moments courtesy of Lars because it lets you peak behind the curtain a bit. And know that James probably thumps in the head from time to time :cuss:rofl

You're not gonna top that shit ever, Stone
:satan :satan :satan

Appropriately enough; Ride the Lightning was my first concert 40 years ago. So there was a cool full circle with that happening too. Glad I could share it with the wifey :love
For sure that was a once in a lifetime
Probably why is till Remember it very clearly

:headbang

Dude was lobbing weirdo clams the whole night. His style is (cleverly enough for his sake) based on hitting things at odd times. So he is already at home hitting the crash on the 7 and doing some dumb ass floor tom roll into the next measure and landing whereever he wants and floor tom riffing it out again :hmm:rofl

HUGE difference being when someone like Lombardo does some weird ass fill (which is 3x the speed and actually lands) you know it's dangerous but will always work and make you crack the fuck up because of how badass it was!

I'm laughing cuz it's true. :rofl

They were pretty tight when I saw them, but they had been on the road for a bit by then, but my drummer buddy and I did have a good amount of chuckles over Lars fills, while he fell out of time a lot during them he was pretty good with landing the downbeats. That's a bummer they were sloppy. How was the sound in there?

Sound was good for most everyone but ST. I think they were doing a bit of dial in during their set? Overall really good. Especially for a huge open arena.

...I'll also say that thar particular off-time Lars technique used to be one of my favorite tricks he'd do. He eventually just made it his whole thing as time went on.

This would have bummed me out. Suicidals would have been the main draw for me in the same way LB were for you.

Though admittedly, I haven't even heard their current lineup. Can this "Dean Pleasants" guy keep up with the Rocky George's leads from ca. Lights Camera Revolution?

It wasn't terrible, more just like some small tweaking it seemed like? Dean Pleasants isn't Rocky George but he is pretty damn good and played the songs as he should I'd say. Both times I have seen them he's done great and fits the vibe perfectly \m/
