Some pedals incoming

SCF didn’t make the cut?

I’ve heard the GT-OD is decent. I always Get really confused by all the bargain “classic overdrive” pedals MXR has… there anre too many of them.

Another one I like in the cheap TS clone camp is the EHX East River. I always thought it was voiced nicely. I think Analog Mike worked on it?
SCF is good on cleans but I just don't like chorus in the loop the more I try it? For me; MXR up front is still doing it for me.

To elaborate on the OD side of this; the GT-OD I tried a LONG time ago and actually really dug it. I didn't ever grab one because I only really became a boost nut here recently. I don't think it was in that cheap run with the Classic Overdrive and the one or two others at that time but maybe I am mistaken? I didn't like the Sugar Drive but that micro-amp 2 is still KILLING it for me.

I didn’t word that very well, I didn’t mean “bad” when I said “cheap” and “bargain”, but it definitely sounded that way. I’ve heard good things about the GT-OD. It should do the TS thing well.

On the chorus thing - I still love MXR modulations up front and they work really well with distortion. The SCF isn’t my favorite with overdrive either, I agree it’s best on cleans

I didn't take it that way either. But was overall just surprised on my level of enjoyment of the GT more than anything? The cheap-o RAT clone I have should be a turd but it sounds so good. I am not too much of a snob?

SCF is great. I could swap the MXR for it or the Dimension up front for stereo to amps purposes but it's kind of a wash for the most part and my desire to swap anything is kinda coming to a close on this board. For now, at least.

Grabbed a Nux CE-2 clone turd over the weekend as well as a no name delay that were both surprisingly good. MXR M300 reverb incoming, MXR Micro Amp+ for boosting in the loop with most likely a DC-2w and some sort of better delay incoming not too far behind that? Haven't settled on the delay just yet. Carbon Copy too vintage sounding, DM2 kind of that same boat. Thought about the SD(e?)-3 but that's a LOT of functionality to pack into a single footswitch pedal. We'll see how it shakes out in the next week or so.
That MXR M300 is a great pedal.

It is. But I also think it's too complex for it's own good and I prefer delay to reverb so it went bye-bye. Both of my Marks have great built in reverb for traditional stuff if I want it so I figure I'll just let that do that trick if I so desire?

Funny enough... I also let mine go, and now have a Strymon Flint v1 for my non reverb amp. I have owned it now for 10 years and have no plans to change it. It's perfect.

I almost grabbed a Dig over the weekend but decided against it. Mainly because not sure at the time what V1 vs. V2 would be like and just being overall happy with the Boss SDE3 I am using now.

I also own a DIG v1...and have for many years. I don't feel the need to upgrade to the V2...but I'm old school. It's a seriously good digital delay.

If they had this pedalboard builder when I was in high school I could have saved like 20 notebooks from being future-rig panning books. :roflIt also helped me realize that putting either the SDE-3000 or 2290p delays on this board would eat up a ton of space. I’ve got just enough room left for cabling.

Not sure if that TCF will make the final cut, I also have not been digging it for dirty tones, for the rare time I’ll actually use chorus on a distorted tone. I’m also realizing now I didn’t include something for a reverse delay, so chances are it’ll get swapped out for a couple Boss pedals in that same spot, a CE-2 and some kind of DD.
