Yeah, this is why I’m hoping to find a classic rock band that isn’t dead set on gigging every single weekend. Any other time and you don’t see anything else but classic rock bands looking for guitarists, now that I have the gear to accommodate it’s barren!
I'm interested to see how you like it cranked - it's rough plugging into my cab at the moment lolView attachment 50288
So last addition to my board. For a few days, at least

Wired up the NS2 in 4cm this morning. Definitely a difference in noise levels. Had it up loud but only to hear the bacon frying. Should have time to play tonight and see how it works while playing. That'll tell me whether I'm still curious about the Zuul+ or not.
What makes it even harder is that a lot of the ones who aren’t gigging every weekend are full of guys who aren’t exactly the highest caliber musicians.
That video of the Tchula sounds great! I bet it sounds even better in front of the Plexi (I can’t stand digital Bassman models)
Did you get yours in yet? This morning I had the III up to volume. Probably at 2 which is where it can start to really think about cooking and the NS definitely took the power sizzle out of signal. I did not play at all because it was 5:45 AMI'm interested to see how you like it cranked - it's rough plugging into my cab at the moment lol

That’s a bummer about the volume drop on the EVH Flanger. If that ends up being a deal breaker but you otherwise love the sound, the PastFx Hot For Flanger is an MXR-117 (the circuit the EVH aims to replicate) clone with a couple additions, like a level control. It’s spot on with my OG M-117.View attachment 50003
So finally got the EVH stuff in. The Phase is![]()

Terrible Atomic Punk riffing for about 15 minutes at LOUD volume
It's an absolute keeper (this board is not going to be it though).
Flanger on the EVH setting is enjoyable but there is a volume drop. I am wondering if the TC with the buffer eventually going in front of it could help? Not sure as it's been so long since I ran a full-on traditional pedalboard. We'll see on Monday once the chorus gets here and go from there on it. CS12 is great and powers it all easy but it might be a swapout for a slimmer model as well. Need to get the chorus onboard then work from there \m/
These amps take pedals so well you can kind of make anything work. There’s pretty much an endless palette of tonal colors and textures to be had.Now that I’m in the Plexi world there’s allllll kinds of fun to be had with them. I know I’ve gotten closer to defining ‘mah tone’ as a result of using dirt pedals instead of amp distortion.
I agree. I’m hoping this is something that improves in future modeling generations. I’ve been using analog dirt pedals into a Tonex pedal recently and kind of splitting the difference. On the fence on whether I think the captures seem to be handling pedals a little better overall.I still don’t think the interactions between pedals work nearly as well in modeling gear as it does with analog pedals. Something happens when you start stacking pedals on top of each other that just doesn’t work the same way in digital.
Flanger in front does not have this issue so problem solved \m/That’s a bummer about the volume drop on the EVH Flanger. Fuzz Face, muffs, screamers, Rat, DS-1, EQs, whatever. They all seem to be useful. It’s a hell of a lot of fun.

Sounds better out front anyway.Flanger in front does not have this issue so problem solved \m/
I run vibrato (Magma57) and harmonic tremolo (harmonious monk) out front. I'm not using any flangers or phasers, but I would also use them in front. Not to pull things off track, but is anyone else using flange/phasers out front?
My whole musical life everything I’ve read says to put it in the loop. It’s never worked for me. I always end up with some metallic jet thing happening. They both work so much better out front. Probably my fav modulations.

In my FM9 gigging preset; modulation is after amp and it soundsI sometimes run chorus post-drive pedals or in the loop, but both flanger and phaser I only run out front.
When I was young I was taught that phaser was in the same camp as wah and should be used in the same place in the signal chain where you run your wah. I don’t know, but that has always worked for me.
I like phasers in front and flange after drives personally. Flange does a cool filter thing with drive hitting it that I like. But both effects I typically have used sparingly over the years. Wah and vibe are more my thing though. Not to pull things off track, but is anyone else using flange/phasers out front?

Phaser/flange/vibe always up front for me. Chorus and trem I can go either way. I've used phaser in the loop post amp a bit for that specific effect but I like my mod more subtle in general. Not to pull things off track, but is anyone else using flange/phasers out front?
