Some pedals incoming

So finally got the EVH stuff in. The Phase is :chef :chef :chef Terrible Atomic Punk riffing for about 15 minutes at LOUD volume :satan It's an absolute keeper (this board is not going to be it though).

Flanger on the EVH setting is enjoyable but there is a volume drop. I am wondering if the TC with the buffer eventually going in front of it could help? Not sure as it's been so long since I ran a full-on traditional pedalboard. We'll see on Monday once the chorus gets here and go from there on it. CS12 is great and powers it all easy but it might be a swapout for a slimmer model as well. Need to get the chorus onboard then work from there \m/

Mine showed up today as well! Nice surprise!

I won't be able to get to it until tomorrow night. I really need to snag an attenuator for the Plexi50, I want to make a stereo rig with this for the first time I hear it but I'm not dragging all this stuff to work just to try a pedal.

Power supply mounted. Sticking with the CS because it works on the PT and I want to keep moving forward. Putting wah up top works with the board angle and feels natural.

Guitar to Wah then down the line through mod and dirts to the MXR Chorus to amp input; TC and SDE in the loop. Open space is not ideal but I'm good for now. It is quieter than with the One Spot powering it but I'm still going to grab a noise gate.

The NS-2 for cheap or the Zuul I’d say, both analog 💅

Finally plugged the TC in tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if I never touch the knobs on it, it's perfect right where they are. Kinda wanted to learn some Police songs right out of the gate. I've got it before the preamp and am now wondering if putting it in the loop all these years is what gave me the idea it sounds thin on distortion. I could see myself tossing this on some leads here and there to stand out a bit more instead of going just for the chorus sound.

All that's left for pedals on my list is the a flanger (it'll be the EVH or the PastFX Elastic Mistress) and delay, then it's utility stuff like the loop switcher, power supply and a patchbay.

There's definitely some charm to plugging in a bunch of pedals and seeing how they interact that you don't get to experience with modeling gear.

The TC is great. I haven't tried it up front because the MXR scratched that itch but I bet it's great there as well \m/

I find with pedals; I still just set and generally forget once I find the sounds I like. Some small minor adjustments but really the same as I do on the Axe where I add the Japan CE-2 block I have saved and move on. Dedicated knobs on the real thing but same sort of procedure?

I have learned really quick that I probably won't ever be done with this particular sub-genre of guitar playing :bag :nails:ROFLMAO: but I think a noise suppressor is my next stop on this train. I am trying really hard not to spend 2 bills on a Zuul+ but it's not easy going at the moment.

@Mikael Dez did you have the NS-2? How was it at noise suppression? I don't need gating so much as that's what your picking hand is for, if you're not djenting it up.

I don’t have it (yet) I’m going to get it because it’s so cheap, it’s analog and it’s Boss. I’m not a djenter so I just want to control the noise and I don’t need anything fancy. If the NS-2 doesn’t do the job then at least it didn’t burn a huge hole in my wallet. I’ll post a NPD when I get it and share my thoughts

Yeah, with certain effects I can definitely set it and forget it, it’s the dirt pedals that I’m constantly fiddling with due to experimenting with the Plexi and how many different ways you can dial them in. Chorus, delays, phase, vibe, etc are all pretty much set and forget outside of tempos and even then, I doubt I’ll set the EVH90 any differently.

I’ll surely swap out dirt pedals over time on this board, but everything else will most likely stay put. I’m just going to start another board when I finish this one to put that ‘I need a new pedal’ energy somewhere! :rofl The current board will be the non-metal/modeling board, the next one will be a bit more modern with the VP4 and more suited toward replacing my FM9 board.
