Soldano SLO 100 VS Quad Cortex

Admittedly, in his videos, both the plug-in and the Quad Cortex from Neural DSP clearly sounded more similar to his real amp than the Line 6 and Fractal models did. Maybe it would have been different if he had compared the various modelers with an older version of the Soldano. I think if he had opened the master volume on the Quad Cortex model a little more, he would have come even closer, as the amp still sounded a little but fuller and darker. And the SLO-100 plug-in sounded really fantastic. Besides Nolly, it's actually my favourite plug-in from Neural.

The plugin SLO is better than the QC SLO device in my opinion, and I kinda feel the same about the Dumble in Wong vs the Dumble device lol

I enjoy that the QC is simple, vs lots of knobs and lots of options in the amp block. I came from Fractal land, and i never used the adv options as they always got tweeked a lot by Cliff ( tbf all the amps changed a lot true the years )
Now, I just enjoy the simple and good sounding stuff

Yeah I don't think it sucks compared to the plugin - I like it better than the Amplitube version that *used* to be licensed lol. I think the plugin is better though, I'm not sure why beyond caveman "I like it" reasons

Is it loaded with great presets out of the box? If anything; the concept of a plug-in experience being fun is worlds away to my caveman brain. I'd pick the dedicated hardware, 10/10.

I'd probably break my own promise to myself and watch one if he did a Mark comparison  He's a great player but is a bit like Cordy in that he could take the most extreme gain'd amp in the world and make elevatorcore out of it instead
The only mark in the QC is the JP. So unless he does the Mark 2C+ plugin, you might be waiting 😕

Shouldn't my fellow italian* youtuber set the controls at x/1.1 when he replicates an x setting on the actual SLO?
just saying...I really don't want to go further into the video.

*I guess he is italian because of the a thick italian accent.

Have we all forgotten that NDSP updated the SLO amp model in the QC due to the fact it did suck. You now have the option between legacy and new.

Maybe Leo covers the two different versions. Didn't watch 😬
They did the same with the Diezel, ( It did not seam like a new model, when I tried it, but I could be wrong )
I need to check with the SLO :beer

Edit:

I just checked, they are really close, the new one is i bit more `open` clarity, more weigth in the `bass` lows. a bit better. But not night and day

The QC SLO is recognized as one of their greats from all I have ever read.

NDSP's Soldano plugin is pretty great. I hear QC model got fixed a couple years ago too - back then, the difference between the two was jarring.

Beyond that; these videos are the gear equivalent of political content from the types of reaction they (intentionally set out to) get.

My guy is really getting his money's worth out of that Lehle Dual.
