We don't get the snow here anymore though.
We are definitely cold, gonna be an expensive heating season.
Rochester will get a combo of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario lake effect.
Syracuse and north will get Lake Ontario storms.
But us between Rochester and Syracuse, just slightly south of the NYS Thruway get mild if any amounts of snow anymore.
Weird coming from up north and seeing roads actually carved out of snow pac with flat ice walls...

Well, a snow storm decided to roll in at 22:00, so tomorrow there will be 15-20 cm snow on what’s already there… just to piss me off at 06:15 going to work… well… it’s winter.
I hate it. But I love snowboarding and the kids to. And that’s the only good thing about winter… I hate it most of the time though.

I don't mind it. In fact, I actually like having 4 seasons, and we usually only get 1 or 2 snow events per (some years none at all), and I like seeing it. I have a 4wd truck, so I don't bother shoveling my drive (which is 2/10 mile, so screw that anyway), plus I'm mostly indoors during winter.
I just looked outside, and I'd say we got another 2" of really heavy snow on top of what was already there. (It had completely stopped sometime late morning, then the last part of the storm came through.)
What I don't like is the salt getting all over my truck! And it warms during the day, then re-freezes at night, so they still add salt for however long the shit remains, so I end up having to run my truck through the car wash a few times, cuz I wanna keep that crap off, as much as possible.

Uh, I'd love that. So far, we had like around half a day with maybe 1cm of very humid snow.
Last time I went out for a sleighride with the kids was in 2020.

That sucks. While I generally don’t like the winter. At least, it’s winter! If it snows and remains snowy and “wintery” through the months, everything is cleaner and bright.
The worst kind of winter for me is when it’s wet and dirty. I’d rather have the snow staying once it comes.
Also humid temperatures feels colder than dry colder temperatures.

Which is precisely describing the very winters I'm going through for all my life as it seems (ok, sometimes we have a week or two of snow, but as said, last time was in 2020).

I was thinking as I drove thru a little snow and icy roads getting into work this morning that if I lived in a state like Arizona, a vehicle would probably last me at least 20 years.
Of course then, moto would probably be my daily again.
