As I recall it was some kind of funny orientation for the FS. I believe you need 2 different leads. One
was a TS and the other a TRS.

Not sure what you mean by "auto function."

When I unplug the guitar engages a switch and goes into what seems like standby.

At first I thought the master was messed a the sound doesn't cut all the way out but but is cut by 95%. It takes about a second for the switch to kick in both ways.

Huh? I should go check mine. Never noticed that before. Last time I used it was just as a
power amp---using the FX Return with my Fractal. Didn't have to plug into the front for that.

Oddly, last evening I was having more issues with the volume dropping out while playing. And today unplugging the cable doesn't do anything different. Might be a bad preamp tube?
