Yep, I basically bought a whole bunch of connectors for soldering my own cables. It's kind of a pain though. The precut sizes could be fine as long as you err on the side of longer lengths. Worse case you have to coil them up a bit.
When I was in full loop switcher mode, my board was made so all the looper I/Os were below the actual pedal layer, so I was running straight/angled flat patch cables below the layer and could tie the cables up easily, even if they were a tad too long. In fact, once the double layer board was done, cabling has been easier than ever before.
