They aren't based on other pedals; the 'Edge' (top right) is a very low gain overdrive. I've not heard anything like it. The 'Lift' is a preamp/buffer with some EQ choices and a switchable boost that can incorporate the EQ, or not (as can the pedal with the boost off, EQ or no depending on the switches).

The Maroon pedal is a 'Chime Mk. II' that is supposed to add some of the glassiness that a Vox has. I think it's different, but I also like it. It has a 'tilt' EQ control that's very effective.

The darker blue pedal is a 'Filter' EQ that sounds great; the turnover points are switchable and very well suited for electric guitar.
 
Old pedal day is here. And it’s the last pedal from the drawer. And the one I’ve used the least of the stuff i had. Can’t even remember using it, must have been back in the friends grunge band time… 2012 maybe.

Digidelay.

So… that’s that. My “back to pedals” journey has brought back 3 of 7 pedals from my drawer. Obscura, Carcosa and the Digidelay. 4 pedals got sold.

I was kinda set on just grabbing a Boss DD, but the Digidelay works fine, i accept it… barely. It does the 400-500 ms clean repeats i need it to do for the post-rock trem picking or embellishment effect.
I suspect it has a low bitrate or something because i can hear degrading if i use longer repeats.

I do think it compliments the Obscura very well though. Clean, clear and short into the dark and long Obscura. Both together sounds massive!

That's great!! No fucking about, no boutique muhhhhh walleetttttt pedals... just a great set of workhorse pedals... ace!
 
1) Still waiting for that EQD Fuzzmaster General clone. According to the builder he has ordered the PCB last week but it's still in the mail - could be due to the NO POLITICS chaos.

2) I added a cheap one the other day. Sonicake's "Cry Bot", basically a mini envelope filter/auto wah. Not sure how sturdy it is, seems decent enough tho. It sounds surprisingly good, but I'm only using it as a fixed filter, like the Q-Zone.

3) The Dano Eisenhower is a BEAST of a fuzz. It'll probably be a tough fight between this and the above-mentioned Fuzzmaster clone.

Not a fan of mini pedals usually, but real estate issues beat me to it. Snug fit...

Need to buy some additional patch cables, maybe a new photo then. 😎

EDIT: Now the only missing piece is a blacked-out/red-LED EQD Fuzzmaster clone, which might (or not) throw the Eisenhower off the board. Got a couple new patch cables today, resulting in pretty much zero audible noise.

I'm in love with this board, it's such a joy to play through and always sounds ridiculously good... ❤️

It grew and grew, until there was no space left, yet it's tidy enough not to upset my ADHD.

The Rangemaster is always on, comes in handy when I'm changing guitars - I have a specific setting for each one and compensate pickup differences by adjusting the amount of output and treble that flow down the rest of the signal chain.

It is, i really like it compared to the “synthy” aspects of other freeze pedals. The infinite is not synth like at all.

I don’t know how much you can customize the one in plethora but on mine (the mini pedal) I can use it as a HOF to, and choose if the sustain will feed into the reverb or not and whether there’s reverb is always on or just when I sustain. As of now I have it so the sustain is feeding a LFO that ramps between certain frequencies so the sustain sounds almost like a violin slowly pitching up and down.

I’m starting to place out stuff now, in the way i imagine makes sense to my playing. It’s a fun Tetris game but sometimes very difficult :bonk

New pedal though! The Honey Bee.
I’ll try to keep this short, but it’s the best overdrive I’ve ever tried, period. But it is more of an amp in a box, supposedly a “Supro” type of thing. Whatever it is it sounds amazing.
It can do clean things and function as a boost/overdrive. And it’s very transparent there. At 12 o’clock the drive starts to behave like the “amp”, very dynamic and reactive. It’s the most dynamic drive I’ve played, volume knob and attack on the strings and such. It goes well into crunch/medium gain on max. The vintage/modern switch adds mids and gain character or keeps things cleaner and transparent.

The interesting bit is the eq knobs. They cut or boost, but any direction is very useful, it’s impossible to make this pedal sound bad. The treble adjusts highs but never gets dull or shrill. It sits in a very nice spot and depending on the where the gain is, different results happen. There’s definitely some sparkle there.
Same with lows, wich i find the most interesting knob. If increased pass 12 o’clock it will introduce sag and power amp like stuff wich is very cool when drive is set low. There’s a presence in the lows that isn’t affected by the treble knob I think. And when pushed together with drive up i think the blowing up Supro is coming in. It’s also possible to tighten it up decreasing lows and switch to vintage mode for a more mid hump thing.

Very happy with the Honey Bee! It feels and sounds very well thought out and well designed with a clear goal of what it is supposed to sound like. Not a standard OD by any means.

My hypothetical pedalboard atm. Thinking of a w/d/w setup with this config... API after drives > line out into the VP4 then wet stereo outs to dual FR10 cabs. The API's instrument out into a tube amp/cab. May build a custom board or just combine 2 of these Dingbats as I have another one just like it. I have another Moog expression pedal too, so could use them with the VP4.

How do you like that Voodoo Lab switcher? I’ve been thinking about adding a switcher to my board to get crap out of the signal path when not in use.

It's great, although it's been for friggin' ever since I've actually used it. :facepalm:rofl
The only negative I can think of is the 1/4" jacks are close to each other so it makes certain right angle plugs a no-go.

Yeah, I was thinking if going that route maybe a solderless patch cable kit with low profile connectors might be the ticket. The wiring seems like it could be a nightmare with generic precut sizes.

Yep, I basically bought a whole bunch of connectors for soldering my own cables. It's kind of a pain though. The precut sizes could be fine as long as you err on the side of longer lengths. Worse case you have to coil them up a bit.

I hate making my own patch cables. I actually enjoying soldering generally but for some reason making patch cables is seriously depressing.

I actually bought a large evidence audio Sis kit on ebay last summer but the couriers lost it and I haven't seen a good deal on another one since.

When I was in full loop switcher mode, my board was made so all the looper I/Os were below the actual pedal layer, so I was running straight/angled flat patch cables below the layer and could tie the cables up easily, even if they were a tad too long. In fact, once the double layer board was done, cabling has been easier than ever before.

The cool thing about the Voodoo Lab Dingbat board, is this switcher is designed to mount directly under the front lip of the board. So all of the connections are hidden and accessed from underneath. I only removed it because I was going to use it for another board but that never materialized.
