I really love the natural V (and Explorer) with gold hardware and black pickguard

V’s are actually nice to play sitting down if you hold it classical style. Kind of like this:

This looks gorgeous and must sound lovely too.

How heavy would it be compared to an average strat model? The wood seems thick.

The one in my OP is 6lbs 9 but they have some listed which is considerably heavier.

I had a Gibson Faded V from around 2005-6 that a friend talked me out of,
and I did the Schenker V from Dean.... but that thing was a weapon on stage
with the ginormous headstock. It's nuts how long that guitar is. Also, bolt-on
neck and not the best quality. I hunted for a USA Made Schenker Dean but
never found one at a good price---and then the lawsuit happens and Dean
stopped making them altogether.

After discovering how great they are, after my first Edwards, I set my sights on
an Edwards V. They make a flip-flop/Schenker-esque version, but when I saw
the Antique White I was smitten. It's a great fucking guitar. Immediate reactions
are how light it is and how great the upper fret access is. Also, a bit honky and
mid-forward compared to something like an LP. Cue the "cuts in a mix" comment.

We have some gigs coming up here this Summer and it will go with me, because
even if I look ridiculous with it, I feel super cool on the inside. And I am more than
ok with that discrepancy.

Also, Albert King. Albert MotherF'ing King! That's what that V you posted a pic
of brings to mind.

Just another reason for me to come visit. I can check out your guitars, bring a Marshall as carryon, try some of your excellent looking cooking and have a few beers.

I vauguely remember Scorpions' guitarist playing a Flying V in a live video of Still loving you.

He sounded amazing.

Always good to add data for everyone else. My tokai LP is bang on 9lbs and my strat is 7lbs 7oz

I don't think we have to be shameful about weighing our guitars. We spend a few hours practicing every day, and those who gig also have to play them frequently. We always have our guitar near us.

When IT professionals work, they have to sit in a specific way for hours. Their employers offer them perks like time for exercise while in the office or even free gym membership at work. People have empathy for them. I don't hate or wanna offend anyone, just stating facts.

In comparison, the most common perk we are offered are bar tabs. The least we can do is be watchful of the weight of our guitars, for our health's sake. Surviving as an artist is not easy.

Needs pickups and it's a bit banged up but is a fun playing guitar when it's up and running. I prefer the Ibanez neck profile and scale length but this thing is a blast for a cheapie (aka sorry Andy )

My '97 epiphone LP is in a similar state also minus pickups. I never play it but I'm quite sentimental about it.
