Selling a Warmoth partscaster…

A parts guitar built by someone that knows what is going to work together and detail finished can be the equal of any Fender style instrument by anyone and probably the best value for money in the instrument business . BUT get if wrong and do it badly and you end up with a $1500 crapheap. :rofl

Which is why they’re impossible to sell. If I do say so myself this one is stellar, but nobody is even willing to give it a chance of taking a look at it because partscasters are a crap shoot

All guitars are a crap shoot if you buy blind or don't trust yourself to judge.

I think I found a buyer!

He and his dad are very interested in the purchasing of my guitar. He just wants me to send the photos to his dads email so they can arrange for the pickup by courier services!

I have a good feeling about this deal

Just to make sure it’s clear this was a joke. This is a scam that’s been going around

Have you seen that dumb thing going around FB groups where a "woman" posts a pic of "her cheating husband's amp" she is trying to sell on the cheap? I have seen it from "multiple people" in all sorts of amp groups. What in the living F :wat:wat:wat:wat

I know a guy who's girlfriend smashed up his acoustic and stormed out because she was hammered and thought he was cheating on her. She went back a few days later to get her stuff and found out she'd smashed her own acoustic and his was fine :ROFLMAO:

It’s crazy. There’s always a new scam out there. The joys of selling gear

I think a lot of folks feel like THEY didn't choose the finish and specs, and they will be "stuck" with something THEY didn't choose. It, unfortunately, has nothing to do with the quality of the guitar, sadly.

Don't build a partscaster if you think you're ever gonna sell it :cop

Buy the parts second hand from other people's failed projects and let them take a bath on the depreciation. That way if you break it apart and sell the separate parts you won't lose any money.

:rollsafe

The USACG neck on my strat was bought from someone who started a project and never finished it.

I know they hadn't used it because they hadn't drilled the holes to fix it to the body when I bought it. The spec they picked would have been about £400 ish delivered to the UK. Then they spent more cash to have it sprayed in nitro and finally sold it to me after never using it for £185.

Granted this only works if someone is selling the exact spec you're after. With a bit of patience I've managed to buy quite a few parts that I was looking for that way.

I think a big part of the issue is the guitars are mostly commoditized.

There’s a huge selection to choose from, and nobody wants to get burned.

Sometimes guitars seem like voodoo magic to people, and they just are unwilling to take a risk on a partscaster; especially without holding it.
